Out of all the games ive played in my life SoD players are the meanest to each other. Why is this?

i think a good portion is because a lot of us feel beaten down by this point? its like weve all been sort of gas lighted into thinking this would be a good time but due to the elitism and unbalance unless youre a shaman boomie or spriest you probably have some kind of frustration. however im not sure why that would make someone want to be mean to another person regardless of it being online or not. There is no rating, no real metric for success. we have no reason not to just be nice its literally a meme game. why are people so toxic?

I can’t believe people are grouping balance druids in with shadow priests and shamans lol

The community is way different nowadays. Full of min-max andies and some are just plain toxic.

Community is exactly the same. Really. lol. Anyone who played hybrid dps knows that.

Some of you didn’t even exist in 2005, but take it from those of us that did – nothing is any different now than back then.

well, the moderation is much worse, but the behavior is the same

IDK about you, but the only things that have truly frustrated me about SoD are my roll luck, and questing areas being perpetually overpopulated. I’ve experienced a non-zero amount of toxicity and general nastiness from other players, but at the same time, it’s nowhere close to what I’ve witnessed in games like Overwatch and League of Legends.

You must not have played very many games in your life if you think SoD players are the purveyors of peak toxicity.

im honestly surprised you didnt add in a “maybe youre just trash” or “get good” to that comment tbh

Depending on the context, it’s likely the only thing that provides those toxic people any kind of validation. It’s rather hilarious to see that being a common denominator with people who have that kind of attitude.

you are wrong. Did you know everyone on these forums are at least +30 years old. heck, im 34, my friends who play sod are all over +40, we even have a 67 year old healing our group in gnomer lol. i’ve never met a teenager in wow classic (2019), HC, SoM or SoD.

you know whats the saddest part is? People act like bunch of teenagers over a videogame. crying over the slightest thing.

The youngest people I’ve played any game with was on FFXIV and most were in their early-mid 20’s.

The ‘kid’ range are typically in FortNite or AmongUs. Something that requires short attention spans, like FPS games.

word. Maybe that’s why i never got hooked to fortnite or amongus lol. But i was damn good at day of defeat 1.3 back in the days as a teenager, now? my reflexs are the same as a snail. Getting older suck

There’s a reason “Toxic Casual” is thrown around so frequently.

Maybe you need a break from the internet then.

No, the game’s not balanced. No, there’s no real reason to care about parses or logs unless that in and of itself is a player’s end goal. Yes, WoW players have always been like this and you’re fooling yourself if you think SoD is somehow the cause of the toxicity.

Like the community’s not all sunshine and rainbows no matter what server you’re on, but seriously, it could be A LOT worse.

interesting because i quit sod and went to retail and its been a very positive experience.

100% WCL related, it’s making the game something it’s not.

I told you to “get good” earlier, and i’m sorry if i offended you. I’m not even joking or being sarcastic. I thought i would sound fun, but i think i ended up offending you and that’s not ok. Have a great day, sir.

Warcraft Logs, I was being dramatic but the egos it inflates is enough to turn a lot of players off. Basically taking pride in something no one cares about and judging others with that mindset. It’s really sad, they lurk the forums just waiting for the next post to “show their superiority” when all they did was put way too much time into something that wasn’t even necessary in the end.
