It’s the same reason why you use Essence of the Focusing Iris even though you have an axe.

It wouldn’t make sense for it to come from the weapon, the Forge is using the Heart as an anchoring point not to mention that’s where all the Azerite has gone to, that’s my point.
Don’t get me wrong, the quality of the ‘‘cinematic’’ is bottom trash tier.
You could make sense of it, though. so, the anchor becomes your necklace and you channel it into your weapon the same way it’s being channeled from the forge to your necklace. There’s no hardlined reason that the heart has to be the end of that chain.
While I liked the LoTR references, there was a whole lack of character resolution that I’m pretty salty over.
