I keep hoping with all these multi-hour maintenance days that someone will fix the rocket fin that stays on my back after completing the Otter Devastation quest, but…nope. Myself and others have posted the issue in the bug forums for quite a while and still no change.
It’s costing me 350 gold every day to do a swan dive off the nearest cliff to get rid of it. Please Blizz…make it stop.

I mean you can just log off that toon and log back on. It’s cheaper and if you’re in a rest place, the logout is instantaneous. But yes, it’s annoying and should be fixed!

No, mine stays there after logging in/out. That is so weird.
Huh really? Are you waiting the full 20 secs when you log out in a non rested place? I noticed it I exited WoW and hopped right back on, it wouldn’t reset it.

300 million years ago, we had fins and were considered sexy.

I can’t figure out what you’re spending 350 gold on… O.o
“a swan dive off the nearest cliff to get rid of it”
I’m guessing repairs after he dies.
I just came here to find out how to get rid of it as it’s irritating.
13 days later and it’s still happening.

Those are some crazy-@ss repairs there…
And yep. Still happening. Not EVERY time, but most times. Relogging seems to be the only fix.

Yep, still been getting it here as well.
He could always strip armor off before doing his dive, it’d certainly save gold

Have you seen what it looks like when you’re playing with a friend and they hitch a ride on your dragon?
A flaming dangle of – what the heck is that? on the flying whelpling (I am sure imagination can fill the the blanks there.)
I had this problem but found that if I turned in the otter before turning in the dropping fish quest, the persistent fin doesn’t seem to happen.
Get naked before killing yourself
It used to be invis on my druid in travel form… now it hovers like a foot above my orca’s dorsal fin. Which… I mean… wtf?
As an update, this bug is STILL persisting in March 2 2024. I’m just not gonna do this quest anymore, as it’s very annoying to look at this stupid flaming fin on my back for hours after completing the quest.
