Especially when that something is one of the few skins/combat forms that druids have access to. The ‘glowy’ feral form is similar, and hopefully returns eventually too in some form.
Yes, yes - tell Blizzard to make more druid skins. We have, for decades.
But if you really get that worked up because players can now get a version of something that they previously couldn’t, simply because of time-exclusivity, then that’s an issue with your mentality, not anyone else’s. Your little brother getting the same toy as you shouldn’t detract from your enjoyment of said toy - unless you are a genuinely petty, spiteful sort of person.
The MT coming back is a good thing. FOMO is an annoying, anti-consumer strategy that other MMOs have been getting rid of (and in the case of another big MMO, reaping dividends and positive press).
Now do the glowy feral form. And bring back the were-cat form too.
You know, I remember when they made that ‘car’ in FF available again, probably as part of a yearly event now. I didn’t see any complaining. I saw a lot of camaraderie, as new and old players alike formed massive ‘car parades’ in major cities, much like the mammoth parades of yore.
That is what a healthy, happy community looks like. More of that please, and less pitting us all against each other.
You can accomplish this already. You have hundreds, if not thousands of transmog options for every slot.
Unless you are a druid.
Because it sets up situations where potential new players become discouraged, because that one thing that would make their avatar perfect is not in the game anymore, and (especially if you are a druid) chances are that nothing similar would ever be added.
Why not?
Why can’t an awesome looking item still be awesome?
Look, it all sounds good to be happy with what you have. But the fact is that in a game with limited character customisation options, everyone needs something to feel distinct. Not special, distinct. Could be a rare mount, could be Guldans shoulders, could be the Spectral tiger or the mage tower skin. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that.
So many use the WoD Moose mount for precisely that reason. Let’s bring it back with WoD timewalking. People still use the Spectral Tiger, in all its pixelated glory. Let’s bring back a recolour for 10 million.
I don’t have the original werebear and I didn’t complain about the recolor either…
Because the appearance is not the only thing that defines an item’s desirability. Nobody uses the Tree mount and think ‘’ I’m really using something special that makes me stand out from the rest’.
None of the things I mentioned have recolors… but yes. I agree with the recolors. No harm in that. Just was discussing the principle behind the title that someone else getting something shouldn’t bother you. The druid shape in a recolour is a good compromise.
Yes, because that was something given to everyone.
Someone using Anzu, Ashes or that weird cloud mount from MoP definitely stands out, and all of those are still farmable.
Again, I’m fine with things being restricted by skill, or even a grind. I also don’t mind yearly event stuff (still after the Reigns). But mounts…mounts I’m fine being timed, ditto titles or pets.
What I don’t like is really crucial character customization stuff being FOMO, and what I really don’t like is these being druid forms, as they have almost zero customization as is.
Do you ? Because the main reason PVP sets, KSM mounts and challenge mogs get removed in the first place is because challenging and hard content don’t necessarily stay hard over time so that’s why they remove them otherwise the reward is meaningless and the dev team doesn’t want to keep balancing old content.
I may have to dust off my tanking shorts, and even the missus might give druid a try for this.
I liked the old way of doing things - where they simply made the mount a low drop chance off the final boss. But again, mounts are mounts. I don’t like FOMO at all, but if it’s kept to stuff that everyone has a crapzillion options for, that’s one thing.
My core issue is that druid forms were made time sensitive.
