You get rank 2 on Osmenite Ore from Avarius. To summon him, you have to loot a Brinestone Pickaxe from mobs in Nazjatar. Then complete the “What Will It Mine?” quest that you get and Avarius will spawn which is a rare spawn. I have killed Avarius multiple times. I’m in possession of the Brinestone Pickaxe and arranged all the crystals that summoned him. I just never got my rank 2 and it hasn’t done anything past that.

I’m in the same boat, I’ve wasted I think 3 Pickaxes now trying to get this Summon to work.
I place and arrange the crystals but no Avarius.

I’m in a similar boat, though not exactly the same. I have completed “What Will it Mine?” and twice killed an Avarius which was summoned by a different person (not myself). No Rank 2 yet. If it’s supposed to be a random drop from Avarius, that’s pretty annoying.

I’m pretty sure I have done that quest and I don’t have rank 2 either. I do have another pickaxe so I can maybe give it another shot.
I have gotten the Rank 2 twice for the ore deposit but nothing for the seam. I have a pickaxe but the brinestone ore is not there to place on the crystals to summon Avarius. Is this a bug?

would like to get rank 2 at some point but this is just staying bugged as in unable to even summon him. Pick axe just taking up valuable space in the bag at this point.
Is today’s patch going to address this?

The moment the servers came back online this morning I was able to get him to spawn and get one of the rank 2 recipes. However, the crystals are now once again locked, no nodes are spawning, and Avarius cannot be summoned.
It does not appear this has been fixed - it looks more like it locks up after the first go.

It seems you can summon him once when the dailies reset, then the rest of the day the stones stay bugged. I’ve been waiting 8 hours for them to reset and nothing. I’ve seen several people attempt to summon him but he never appears. For goodness sake, this should be fixed properly by now, especially considering profession ranks are gated behind it.

I got the brimestone axe but no more brimestone deposits to mine. I see people trying to spawn avarius, but just a plume of water appears, no avarius.
Again, next morning right after reset, the stone spawns and I use the pick-axe. No boss. This is ridiculous.
He doesn’t spawn after you use the brimestone pickaxe. The stone activates the gems then you have to run around the room mining nodes to get 5 different crystals. The bug I’m getting is the gems stay spawned and in place so you cant summon him. Usually they are just hollow crystals when you can summon him.
I was able to summon him after server reset but now its broken again.
