Originals, Fresh, Fresh Boost Servers

Honestly don’t think classic wow needs boosts introduced but blizzards gonna do it anyway. So it needs to be done properly. Boosts on main servers should only be usable by Veteran players with a character above level 58. This is mostly to prevent new players from boosting on dead servers, or servers that are extremely one sided. As well this prevents farmers from being able to create new accounts and having max level characters at the click of a button.

This leads into what I think would be best for Blizzard is to introduce three sets of servers for TBC.

  • Original Classic Server
    (moving to TBC)
    [Veteran only boosts allowed]

  • Fresh 1-70 Server
    (Opens with Pre-Patch)
    [No boosts allowed]

  • Fresh 58-70 Boost Server
(Opens on Launch day or 1 day before TBC)
[Max 1 character per account across all boost realms; can purchase additional character slots. Boost Only]

This gives the options to new players who want to play TBC content and can jump in blindly without getting stuck on a server they don’t want to be on. Gives veterans the most choices with continuing progress, rolling new, or trying out a class they’ve never played on the 58-70 server, and still allows blizzard to collect boost money from veterans on original servers who want to quickly snag another class or from new players who want an alt on the boost server.

Looking for peoples opinion on doing this, feel like most players would be fine with this proof of concept.

Yes i agree, this system would fix the problem

What makes you think Classic Forever Servers are going to have Boosts?

Didn’t really mean to reference Vanilla as Classic.

But as for Vanilla getting boosts, I don’t think it’ll happen to the Forever Servers, only the new expansion. So TBC will have a boost option until it becomes TBC Forever Server. Then WotLK would have a boost option until it becomes WotLK Forever Server and so forth for each expansion.

I think Blizzard said (during the live video, around 3:20) that boost will ONLY exist on the TBC servers. That’s what Raku suggests.

They specifically said that players who want a new character in TBC can get a boost to 58. That obviously doesn’t include the “new era” servers that will never get TBC.
