Orgrimmar needs a makeover

Now that Undercity is gone and there are now… what, 6 Horde races with no capital city (Forsaken, Troll, Goblin, Pandaren, Mag’har, Vulpera), I think it would be a good idea to give Orgrimmar a bit of a face lift, to reflect changes that happened since the rule of Garrosh, and to give said races more representation.

  1. Less red.

I understand that the Horde’s color is red, but I don’t think every single rooftop needs to be red, especially when Stormwind feels so varied in comparison… and Stormwind is all grey brick!

The red was probably a Garrosh choice, and now that we’re about to be 3-4 expansions removed from his time as Warchief, things could use a little bit of a paint job. More yellows and greens, maybe.

  1. More foliage.

I understand that Durotar is almost barren… but it isn’t a desert. Maybe this is a problem related to all the reds in Orgrimmar when the ground is already red enough, but It’s kind of a bruh moment to walk in and see next to no green for being comprised of races that are supposed to be in-tune with nature. You only really get that good-good greenery when you go into the Valleys of Spirits and Wisdom… places nobody ever goes. Bring some of that out front to the Valley of Strength!

  1. More racial representation.

When I walk into Orgrimmar, I expect to see totems, weapons, warriors sparring, darker magics. Instead, I walk in and I see red and spikes. I barely even see Orcish NPCs wearing red anymore! Who even likes this?

Add some totems! Trolls doing the voodoo! Add little sparring pits and training areas that aren’t on top of the freakin’ wall! Little apothecaries here and there!

  1. Larger buildings.

Especially Grommash Hold. For being the supposed Horde equivalent to Stormwind Keep, it’s… pitiful. Definitely doesn’t seem like something Garrosh would have built for himself, and definitely doesn’t seem big enough to house an entire council, or whatever the leading body of the Horde is now going into Shadowlands.

For a city with so much verticality, I don’t understand why the buildings have to be so squat and one-floored.

  1. Just a little bit of Elven representation.

I understand why there is no Blood Elf or Nightborne architecture anywhere in Orgrimmar: It wouldn’t fit, at all. But maybe like, one building somewhere in the back? Maybe the Embassy can look a little like Silvermoon.

  1. Keep the spikes.

That’s all. It isn’t the Horde without spikes.

Origrimmar is so ugly. I’ve even thought about faction changing just to avoid going there.

What you say about the new races in Origrimmar, is true. They should include all of their traits to show the new Origrimmar. I’d even have it reach out into Durotar and give it a make over while at the same time, giving it some life.

I really like the whole spike motif but that was garroshs orgrimmar. Itd be nice to see an orgrimmar that isnt designed by a warmonger.

Or we can show the night elf players some love for once in their 15 years of playing

Orgrimmar needs to be plague bombed. After that is all done, we can clean up Suramar and turn it into the new Horde capital city!

Orgimmar at least needs to be finished. It’s been being rebuilt since Cata. Meanwhile, how often has Stormwind been repaired, improved and updated?

Durotar is considered a desert yes.

The different races each occupy a different zone, you’ll find some troll voodoo in the valley of spirit.

Was created because Garrosh wanted to be at the front in the valley of strengh, because he values strengh more. The old seat of power was in the valley of wisdom.

Nah, Nightborne and blood elves don’t really live much in Orgrimmar. They still have their city :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I’d say it would take an Alliance to think that. We actually need more red.

THey need to do something like this for Teldrassil

I don’t love Horde architecture as a whole. The mud hud and spikes motif is not something I find appealing. I used to try and do as much of my business as I could in Silvermoon, but they just keep giving me reasons to have to go back to Orgrimmar. I agree it looks terrible, though. :frowning:

Being from the desert I must concur.

We had a burning crater until Legion. Org is done - it just looks like garbage , same as the Horde

Same with Silvermoon.

The Blood Elves have been rebuilding it for 10+ years now. Sadly though, i never see BC cities ever getting a change.

I always saw it at more of a savanna, especially after the Cataclysm.

It didn’t really change much, maybe you’re thinking of the Barrens.

That’s the Barrens where Cross Roads is .

Durotan is where Org is located.

That’s funny because I was just thinking how drab Stormwind looks and how all that blue really needs to be replaced with a lovely red shade. I have a few ideas on how this may be accomplished.

This is the makeover Orgrimmar needs
