I think in ESO lore this is a fact. As for our lore, I though they were mutated Draenor ogres.

They are green elves from another planet who mutated from ogres, just like Azeroth’s elves mutated from trolls.

In Tolkien lore the orcs are made of twisted and tortured elves, so take from that what you will :man_shrugging:

They can’t be elves because:

  1. Their ears don’t poke through their helms/hoods
    and
  2. They don’t have long, fabulous eyebrows!

They must be something else. Hmm, cats have pointy ears. Maybe they’re cats?

Compared to the other elf species those are still very small ears in proportion to the head. Gnome ears are bigger proportionally.

Doesn’t work out. They don’t have the essential cat qualities, such as…

A refusal to admit that you-- or anything– are possibly their social, intellectual, or spiritual equal,

A seemingly random chance to either be insanely finicky or somewhat disgusting,

A tendency to be utterly silent until you want them to be, upon which they are suddenly all in your face,

Preposterous grace-- or at least the reputation for it, to the extent that when they are clumsy goofs they can pass it off being graceful because “they meant to do that”…

Orcs: green, muscular elves
Goblin: green, tiny elves
Nightborne: mutated night elves
Darkspear: origin of elves
Zandalari: evolved origin of elves
