So I have read that Rogues are prone to dying in stuns and have long cooldown on defensives. So i am wanting to play a race that makes a Rogue’s weakness not so weak.
-Humans’ have their racial that shares cooldown with medallion which gives them more chances to break stuns.
-Night Elfs’ have Shadowmeld, Harder to hit, increase stealth speed.
Orc has stun reduction and a damage increase racial which is very useful.
I am going to mention also that gnome has racial to break movement altering spells. If you are a experienced Rogue PVPer, what race would be the best pick for Rogue. I will be playing all specs of Rogue in both Rated Arenas and Solo RBGs’
33% of all PVPers are night elf: https://drustvar.com/pvp/representation?bracket=all®ion=all&rating=1800&option=race
That is for all classes.
The racial is so strong for rogue that you are throwing for not choosing it.
I, personally am throwing, and went light forged Draenei though.
Night Elf and Orc are the strongest race for Rogue PvP if you’re going for damage out of the 3 you mentioned. Hardiness (the stun reduction you mentioned) is nerfed in PvP by 50% so its only 10% duration reduction. Orc’s Blood Fury is good for increasing your attack power for 15s during burst windows. It’s pretty much a macro-able Badge of Ferocity. For the Night Elf’s Shadowmeld is effectively a half cooldown Vanish. The power of that racial fluctuates alot based on your spec but its huge dps or defensive gains across the board. Subtlety Rogue Nelfs are very elusive and fickle to deal with. Assa Rogue Nelfs gets another window of Iron Wire Garrote Cleave. Outlaw Nelfs can restabilize their rotation if they’ve been CC’d for too long or burst for longer if not CC’d. Other than that, Nelf’s also benefit from +1% Crit (Day) / Haste (Night) depending on the time, 1% DR vs Nature, +2% Dodge and Movement Speed baseline, and +5% Movement Speed in stealth.
Human Rogues is quirky. Its a defensive pick if you’re going to play PvP content but its the weakest race pick for 2 of the 3 specs (Assa and Sub). It’s only good for Outlaw specifically for the Will to Survive and even then that’s niche. If you’re going to be dueling a lot for fun, Human Outlaw is a really good option. If you are trying to weight in how good The Human Spirit is (+2% to all secondary stats), its not that big of an impact. Essentially slap +2% on your secondary stats flat value (not the % shown in character sheet) and thats what it does.
A race that’s underrated for Rogue in my eyes is Dark Iron Dwarves, having Fireblood (really strong racial), -1% physical damage taken, and +4% movement speed indoors. Fireblood gives you 7387 Agility +2462 per poison, disease, curse, magic, and bleed effects that was removed when you pressed the racial for 8 seconds. To give context, I have 79388 Agility in PvP and 1 press of that is +9.3% Agility straight and another 3.1% more per debuff mentioned above getting cleansed and this is further increased by the PvP set bonus.
My recommendation for you is pretty much from best to worst:
- Night Elf
- Dark Iron Dwarf
- Orc
- Human
Don’t forget to mention that the Dark Iron Dwarf racial puts trinket on a 30 cd, which can be unfavorable.
Didn’t know they changed Dark Iron racial to do that. Looks like it also procs retaliation from Spriest’s, Lock’s, and Ele Sham’s magical effects. I can see why they’re not picked at all now.
Night Elf is the strongest racial for rogues and it’s not even close.
And then you nerf preemptive maneuver’s 60% dmg reduction by being out of that stun faster…
strongest racial is dorf stoneform.
no more veil of midnight.
Stoneform and escape artist are good alternatives.
