Which do you fear the most?
When I first started, I went Undead WL, however all my friends hated horde and I went Human WL to play with those pansies…
Rogues (good ones) and Warriors 9at least with healers) were the hardest to deal with…how is with Undead or Orc? Priest was a battle…lol. Nothing else stands out, as dominating when I came across them. Though a succy help with rogues, a lot. Then again, I was going against the faction I REALLY wanted to be…lol.
Mainly, loved PvP BGs and Wpvp.
I’d say probably orc if you’re looking at racials, primarily for the stun resist. Will help against rogues, warriors and paladins. Pretty sure it ends up being a 35% chance to resist stuns which is pretty great, just being able to negate a huge cc.
Undead has WOTF which is nice but is only going to help Vs other locks and warrior fear. Don’t know if many priests are gonna try get up in your face to fear you but possibly.
Only thing is you might not like the look of Orcs in dresses. Or how they look on lock mount compared to undead.

Orc warlocks are really unfair in PVP, especially during later tiers when you scale up into a monster. Undead look better, but I’d personally never gimp myself so hard. Especially on the faction which faces paladins, yet another stun.

Thanks for the replies. How are they without raiding gear, as I was always more of a PvPer (friends were more PvE) and done very few raids…so was never the “geared” warlock. probably be about the same now, some dungeons…few raids.
Warlocks without gear are heavily countered by a lot of melee but it’s always trivial to use succubus to line up uncounterable burst rotations 1v1. A lock in r13/t2+ gear has almost no counters and can reliably 1vx as most specs.

Thanks, I guess I just need to raid, then. The chore, so I can have fun in PvP…lol.
They’re pretty good when everyone has blues for example but in my experience they suffer once your opponents start to get purples and you stagnate in dungeon loot. You’re just too squishy without that huge health pool.
As I’ve said many times in the past, orc is terrible for warlocks in classic. BGs are the only place you’ll put your 1 racial to any effective use. If you’re not going for R14, it’s not a wise choice. Orc warlock is actually among the most illogical combinations in classic, right next to gnome warrior/rogue.
With them it was Ally, PvE sever…BGs ended up being MY “fix”…under geared and ally…ugh.
Anyway, I am doing MY thing this time and it will be horde on a PvP server. I was drawn to Undead lock (back then), just want to make I am not gimping myself (this time around), by not getting the best race for PvP, either Wpvp or BGs. Rogues stick in my mind in Wpvp and warriors in BGs…
Orc > Undead
You can break fear with trinket, and you can dispell it too. Your pvp trinket does not break stuns as warlock.
But having 1/4 stuns of your lifetime simply miss, is priceless.
Orc get more hp, cool damage increase racial. It’ll save your butt.
They are very easily counterable by melee classes. Vs casters it’s who outplays who fairly even fight.

While I’m not trying to dismiss Drain’s opinion, I think it’s clear it comes from a PVE server mindset. Gnome warriors are fantastic for PVP realms as escape artist turns mageVwarrior into something equal instead of horrifically one sided.
I very much suggest you go orc unless you find resisting 30% of intercepts/hoj’s /kidney shots an unappealing thought. Wotf is good for removing fears, but ally locks tend to be more rare, and intercept stun will kill you far more than intimidating shout will. Cannibalize is whatever.

I don’t find this to be the case, but then again my opponents might just be terrible. Not much you can do against succubus enabling your burst though as most classes, right? Do you have any examples of how melee can deal with it aside from killing the pet?
Most likely everyone will be UD so go Orc and be different.
Undead warlock chiming in, here:
We look the best. THE. BEST. Without a doubt, we are among the most visually stunning race/class combos, even back in Vanilla. The undead warlock is ICONIC, and once you’re riding that Dreadsteed, you will look and feel like the Apocolypse itself.
That said, mechanically, orcs take the prize every time. The boost to pet damage alone puts undead racials to shame in pure practicality (though Life Tap + Cannibalize is still one of my all time favorite moves in any situation). And if you’re talking pvp, it really is no contest. WotF is nice but a trinket will do the job just fine, while the orc stun resist WILL come into play in every BG.
And I’ll be honest, other than trying to ride a horse, orc warlocks don’t look half bad. Just be sure to buy a wolf at some point and you’re set.

Watch YouTube “executus “. He has great examples, he plays warrior as well. He’s legit. I wasn’t as good.
I used to with warrior rush in -> aoe fear sending succubus running -> kill lock. There are other strategies as well. Melee eats locks if they are good.

Orc role play as an evil warlock.
Undead you look very good in most of their gear.
Orcs do more pet damage and are passively better against rogues when your not under water.
Under water your a beast as undead in long battles.
Forsaken might be better for warriors with aoe fear and priests if it still has a short immunity.
That’s a good point, though i always use a pet stay/follow macro to make sure my succubus is about 10 yards from me whilst grinding mobs so that can’t happen. Not sure if that’ll be possible in classic or not.
Thanks for the responses, since I hate rogues…I will probably go Orc. Plus, a pet that can put more damage/pressure can not hurt.
Warlocks have unending breath. What does being under water have to do with anything?
