Orc Axe Specialization

How much value does the 5 extra skill points for axes provide? How much of a DPS difference does it take to make it worth it to use a sword, mace, or polearm instead?

Here are some links you may or may not find to be of use (considering that SoD is a WoW Classic Client this should be relevant. It’s possible that Runes in later phases make some differences):

When we get to level 60, it’s like 1% hit chance, and a 25% damage increase on your glancing blows (which are 40% of your white hits).

You don’t have glancing blows on low level bosses, so it’s just the hit chance right now.

It will depend on what level the bosses are considered in Gnomer. JakeFromTree has a good breakdown of why Human’s are less powerful in SoD than they would be normally because the bosses are considered 2 levels above us instead of 3. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFjImMt4FhQ

1% hit chance feels like a lot when comparing two weapons of similar power. I actually didn’t realize it was that impactful.

Damn imagine being an Orc Warrior and getting Whirlwind Axe at 30.

I can’t wait.

Don’t we? My BFD logs show that a good percentage of my melee attacks are glancing blows.

Weapon skill barely affects them at this level. We’re talking a 1% difference.
