Option to turn off world quest announcement please

At this point it’s no longer needed for quest giver to tell you what’s going on as heard it 100 times and sometimes the announcer makes me lag.

Doesn’t give me lag but I agree either way. When you’re not actually set out to do world quests but you can’t just travel to wherever you’re going without NPCs constantly yapping about something nearby… it’s just annoying. Blizz puts all this effort into world building then ruins the immersion with an overload of phatom voiceovers. Makes any pre-Legion zones feel so much more relaxing and enjoyable by comparison.
It’s helpful if you ARE actively world questing, but just like a phones notifications you should be able to mute it/turn it off and on at will.

There are addons that can turn off the popups. Both BeQuiet and Hide Talking Head will do the trick. They can’t do anything about the audio part of it, but they do get rid of the popup notifications.

I still have PTSD from Khadgar and Illidan. I hate them.

The dwarf involved in assaults is getting on my nerves as well. If I hear “I don’t know if those mangy orcs smell worse dead or alive!” one more time. . .:hocho:

For the addons- That’s mildly helpful but personally it’s the constant random voiceovers that annoy me more than the pop up. Like, I’m supposed to be this “hero” “champion” etc. in this story, but when phantom leadership can just apparently walkie-talkie me whenever they feel like it it makes me feel more like a security guard than a “champion”.

Look into the Talkless addon. It removes the voiceover after you have heard it once. It should be on curseforge.com.

Haha. I liked him a lot in the beginning, but I sometimes do as many as four per assault. I just don’t want to hear any of their voices right now! :sob:

I’d actually love to be able to toggle off ALL world quest/ bonus objective popups AND sounds, including that annoying “ka-chunk” sound when they first trigger. If I’m out herbing or mining and trying to find a path to a spawn, I don’t need the same wq popping 5 times in ten seconds. It’s so thoroughly annoying.

There is an addon called Silent World Quests. Gets rid of the popup and all of the audio. I love it ^.^

Thank you, Sometimes! Silent World Quests addon still works fine in 8.3 as of this date.

Oh that’s okay I got this new virus scanner on my computer, a free one, as the old one I could no longer afford so was relying on Windows Defender alone for ages, but the new one I downloaded just purged over 1500 infections from my computer and wow is running a lot more smoother now
