Does this box drive anyone else crazy? It pops up at the absolute worst times and I have resented it since they forced it into the game. Is there anyway to get rid of it?

If it is the talking head and vo in middle of screen I use the add on Silent World Quest it disables them both been using it long time and works great.

I use the no talking head addon and it works great also.

I have the dialog box moved to the upper left corner, where it doesn’t get in the way, but I can still see it when I want or need to.

I use MoveTalkingHead. There is also HideTalkingHead. Very handy!
Yeah, I’m the same way. In the exact same place. 
And I can just right click it off if I don’t want to see or hear it.
I was using Be Quiet for a while. The dialog would be in your chat window instead, and no popup.
There are addons that let you move it to other locations so it doesn’t get in your way.

And I downloaded it because I got sick of Genn Greymane yelling at me every time I entered Boralus during the Tiragarde assaults.
I think a middle ground would be good.

I gotta agree, I’ve been annoyed by these several times. An add-on doesn’t need to be the answer to everything.
Agreed on this. I think the talking head thing is a good way to deliver important story dialogue to people without forcing them to read quest text, but it’s a pain when they pop up repeatedly for world quests or whatever.

Only time it really bugs me is in Mythic + runs. I go in there already knowing what is going on in the zone and I don’t need the NPC’s dialog telling me everything that is going on because my goal is to get through it as quick as possible and having to click to remove the dialog box can be annoying sometimes.
This is what I use. Works well. There was short period at the start of 9.0 when it didn’t work, but it got updated and I haven’t had to see those stupid dialogue boxes since. That short period was the only time since Legion that I’ve had to put up with those boxes.
