Why isn’t this a thing? Every single wing I joined tonight was already in progress, I had to queue 8 times to do the awakened raid. I’d rather wait a bit longer and get a fresh run.
As a guess…
Because if we could, they would never get backfilled and finished.
The system in place will 100% give you a fresh raid if your previous queue for a particular wing was already in progress.
Not perfect, but I see the logic behind it.
I didn’t know that was a thing, that’s good to know.
100%
K so instead of making new players join in progress and have to queue a second time, we make people that have a failed run queue a second time to do a successful run. Again this week my first 2 raids are in progress on fresh run day. So I have to queue twice per wing, LFR is about to lose a tank and healer per week. I don’t have time for this crap.
It’s something we all cop. If they want to change it to something better I’m all for it.
I agree it can be annoying.
Though, I do get why it is the way it is at the moment.
You backfill people’s runs and get into fresh ones after, in exchange for that if someone leaves your run then it gets backfilled relatively quickly.
We had it so you could see what bosses were downed before accepting the queue in the past, know what happened? You lost a few people after a boss, it didn’t refill, more people left, and you had to abandon the run.
What do you think about never ending lfrs?
As soon as the last boss is killed, give the group like 5 mins then a new fresh LFR will start.
they used to show you the raid progress before you zoned in, and the result was exactly that. tank leaves your lfr group mid-raid? you might as well drop, because you’ll never get a second tank. this is exactly why they changed it.
will it? last i heard they said the system would do its best to get you a fresh run but that it was not guaranteed.
Honestly, I am going of hear-say and my own personal experiences. I’ve heard it proclaimed many times on this and other platforms.
I have personally never had to queue for an LFR wing more than twice… I can not recall a single time since at least Legion.
I’m thinking I can’t be that lucky across 12 characters, which I do weekly almost religiously.
because people who waited in queue will now wait in a second queue to backfill after a departure.
Spriest overlord, I’ve decided to switch from Rsham and just play all 3 specs of Priest in WW. I’m having a barrel of fun with Shadow, getting pretty decent end-dungeon meters, but my single target still isn’t great.
What sort of rotation should I be looking to do for single target?
Shadow’s single target and AoE rotation are close to identical in keys, besides frantically spamming VT in large pulls before popping off with crash into CDs. Keep blast and bolt from capping, use mfi procs if you can buy cutting them short to spend procs is ok, play to aggressively spend plagues in situations with high insanity gen and play for uptime in lower target counts outside CDs. Try not to waste a 4 set proc and hold that 4th plague until the next pull. Start keys with 3/4 of a 4set proc by setting a training dummy and building up beforehand.
Things to watch out for though are making sure you have at least some amount of insanity prior to sending voidform and PI, playing to maximise Devouring plague uptime outside of voidform and spending insanity aggressively in voidform to extend it. Try to pool mind blasts for the 4set window after your fourth plague but don’t let them cap ofc, and make use of any extra mobs to get SWD insanity generation or Twist of Fate uptime, beyond just cleaving them with crash.
Also you have no mastery.
Yeah, forgot to reattune my trinket. Was in full PVP gear originally so had plenty of mastery and low crit, need to work on that some–but really just getting quest ready before launch not really trying to BIS.
It has always given me a fresh run when I have completed an in-progress run. Small sample size though.
