And I get IoC all the time it feels like.
We all play for fun, but “muh rewardz” is the reason we all stick around once we hit max level. Don’t act like it’s not.
The strawman baseball comparison is flawed. I never said “I don’t like doing my job in BGs (heals, DPS, whatever)”. I said “I don’t enjoy specific BGs and would prefer to opt out without being punished for it”.
Even an option to set BGs on a cycle so you never get WG 6 times in a row would be better than what we currently have.
then why do people keep playing after they have capped for the week?
also you can queue for specific bgs.
Do you like AV? Because I remember AV matches taking 40-50 minutes on average for me with a few exceptions of an 1h+. WG has a fixed amount of time and can be hastened on Defense by breaking towers and hastened on Offense by not sucking (same as every BG).
Then any other Epic BG? I beg to differ. Then normal BGs? Yes.
Literally most of the evidence is anecdotal. You saying WG takes forever is anecdotal. You saying you have a full time job and other things is anecdotal, and frankly something almost everyone has.
I agree that the blacklist was fine and good for people, I used it to blacklist some BGs I didn’t like but the problem was just outlined. People who didnt understand the BG or bots got funneled to the top and just used the strat they knew. AV in early Legion and the past were most of the time Zerging and hoping you won, it happened a ton.
And its not that someone dislikes the BG, but what if all you got every day was AV because so many other people blacklisted it? In Legion I would almost always get AV/Deepwind gorge because they were so blacklisted and it frankly gets boring after a time to get those 60% of the time.
I get this anyway right now. Explain to me how blacklisting being removed fixed this? You know what I blacklisted back then? Repeats. I don’t need ToK being half of the BGs I play.
But everyone got that when blacklisting was around.
Someone said removing blacklisting fixed this. It didn’t. It’s worse now because I have no way to stop it.
It did for me and others though. And yes, I have reflex to show a good assortment of BGs unlike the past.
Well, congratulations. It didn’t for me, and I hate having to deal with it.
There’s always specific queuing too.
The longest streak I’ve had this expac is 2, if you exclude Epic Battlegrounds where until the most recent patch there were only two maps.
Not about streaks here in terms of “in-a-row”. It’s about frequency.
So no rewards then? Because a system doesn’t work properly? Sounds grand.
Well if it isn’t about ‘in a row’, presumably you will have won in between queues so that if frequency is a problem you can queue specifically without it impacting your rewards (beyond 8/15 conquest)?
I’m not going to queue specific BGs. It defeats the point of the supposed random. And I do want the rewards. Regardless, I feel like this conversation has veered off from the original point, and I personally don’t feel like continuing.
There was nothing “wrong” with blacklist imo
In fact, it can be argued that with even more bgs being added in the future (Ashran, etc), that it would make sense to allow us to blacklist just 1 bg per queue
Being able to blacklist just 1 bg is hardly game-breaking and I doubt it would impact queue times very much, if at all
“Defeats the point of supposed random” =/= complains about frequency of certain maps in said random pool.
“It can be argued with more battlegrounds…”
No, it can’t, because in one queue there are 9 maps and in the other there are three. Even with Ashran, blacklisting 1 map out of 4 is removing 25% of the queue. A quarter. Of course that would have an impact on the queue times. And as I listed, the wait times weren’t the only downside of the blacklist system.
At any rate, blacklisting was removed from the game because as a system it did not work. Simple as that.
Worked just fine for me, but to each his own
Indeed @gdtroll, indeed.
