Opt out of non-OCE servers needs to happen

Until now I haven’t had any issues (150ms tops), but presumably I’ve been lucky and not had instances hosted on the east coast or in South America. Just had two LFRs in a row (in MoP remix) bricked with endless latency (which the game doesn’t acknowledge, it still says 53ms) because it was being hosted on Stormrage.

Wrath classic proved that OCE-only servers do not have “long wait times” when not linked to the rest of the world, so that excuse is moot. Let us opt out of literally unplayable host servers.

I agree. A checkbox in the group finder tool to exclude players from other datacentres would be ideal.

It is unbearable to queue to LFR and every time that we get an OCE player on the group, we are dragged to their server. We get huge latency every single time.

Ideally they should not be grouped with NA players, but since they do, at least drag them out to NA. I am constantly queueing with 2+ people and we all get dragged into a horrible playing experience because of the way that the queue/grouping works right now.

This also happens with LFG for dungeons. We are 3 NA players getting dragged to OCE because of 1 dude. Why do I have to pay and still have a bad experience?

We’re also paying, so why do we have to put up with lag far more often than you do since there are many MANY more NA players than OCE? Pretty entitled of you buddy.

Don’t accept the queue pop unless you’ve got the guide icon if it’s really that offensive, otherwise you run the risk of someone else who is ALSO PAYING hosting the instance.

I play on east coast NA, and when queueing for dungeons I have been placed in more OCE servers than servers from my own region. This is not an exaggeration. My ping to OCE is 250-300ms. Also not an exaggeration. I’m playing the game at peak hours for MY region and being forced to play at 300ping. This affects ALL aspects of the gameplay like dodging mechanics, and casting spells. I personally feel like the issue has gotten worse since this expansion. Getting into an OCE was a rare occurrence and now it feels like its every other dungeon, and often back to back. The experience is severely degraded. I would much rather wait, than be placed in a dungeon group where it’s nearly unplayable. I’m sure OCE players would also rather wait than have a 300ping healer.

Yeah I’d rather wait. Nothing against the NA players personally, just gameplay-wise it doesn’t work. Although I feel like Blizzard have known this for a good decade now. Their unwillingness to speak on the matter aside from bullsh** excuses usually means there’s some technical reason why it can’t be done. For the record though, I wouldn’t be opposed to going as far as splitting the OCE servers off into their own game region (like EU… they don’t have to put up with this).
