I’ve been a Warlock since day one. Only class I’ve ever raided with. My upcoming opinion might seem biased since that is my only class but it’s more logic based.
Warlocks should be the top dps or at least tied with mages. No matter what tier of content, Warlocks and mages should be easily topping the charts. It shouldn’t even be close. Reason being…it’s all we really do. All three of our specs are simply just damage.
Now so are a few others like hunters and rogues but they have extra armor and other tricks. I firmly believe hunters and rogues should be a strong second.
What I don’t like to see is a plate wearing warrior or DK topping the charts. That is very frustrating. They have plate armor instead of cloth, they could tank if they so choose and are the top dps at the moment. That doesn’t sit well. As a Warlock, I can’t do anything else.
On the same note, Druids are amazing but I don’t want to see them topping the charts for dps or healing or being the best tank. Why should a class with so many options be the best at them. The best should be reserved for the classes that have no other options.
Right now, I am getting stomped by DK’s and hunters in dps even though I am way more geared. I would very much like to see some buffs to warlocks and mages.
but you have a pet and multiple cc abilities, not forgetting that melees have to be close to the target while you are ranged. i say buff rogues in pve.
this is the weirdest way to go about ranking classes that i have seen in quite some time, doesn’t mention utility at all but just armor type and raw dps, with some hybrid tax mixed in
I’m still on the train for pure classes to be top. if all you can do is pew pew, then you should be the best at pew pewing. Giving everyone the same utility and buffing hybrid damage to some of the levels they’ve been just never made sense to me. Not saying they shouldn’t be viable, but they shouldn’t be given the tool kits and the damage on top of a healing or tanking spec when utility and damage is all a pure gets.
Also dps is not all you do…buffs, hs, summons, kicks, youre ranged
Mages have buffs, control, slow and heroism.
Like in what expansion youre living in?
If it was by your “logic”, what would be the point of every other dps spec in the game beside hunters rogues mages and locks?
Off healing is a bait. If you spec shadow, or ele or enha or moonkin…your epure dps omg its not vanila.
i don’t think that mentality has any place in any modern versions of wow IMO, we’re playing specs not classes e.g. ret or boomkin etc intentionally being worse is stupid they’re not tank or healing they’re dps in a perfect world everyone should be around the same tier and if a “hybrid” class pulls ahead a bit good for them
