Opinion On The Raid?

Now that we’re 2 weeks in and the newness isn’t so overpowering. Opinions?
I think it’s definitely one of the most beautiful raids out there. Love the N’zoth skybox and the vastness of the pits and lava terrain.
That said though… All the bosses basically seem like target dummies w/ no mechanics. I know, I know- if I want a harder time w/ more mechanics, go to Mythic, and I am. But I’m just thinking back to raids like Blackrock Foundry, which were way more interactive than just ‘stand still and dps.’

It’s like Uldum buildings but with a purple filter

I hate the way the raid looks as well as the boss fights.

Eternal Palace is probably the most aesthethically pleasing while Battle for Dazalor is the most “fun” mechanics wise.

It’s fine. Although some bosses feel like they’ve been heavily inspired by ffxiv mechanics.

I’m enjoying it

True… Out of all the raids this xpac. Dazar’alor is the most mechanically fun.

I’m not a fan of big raids or 13 bosses. I really miss 7 bosses max. The place is great, but it will be forgotten just like Antorus in Legion.

I actually liked The trail of the grand crusader back in Wotlk, It was smooth and simple and 5 bosses back to back. no adds/no RP. they need to do more of these.

Did I not do the same ToC as you?

seems mostly boring. raden is probably the funnest fight and hivemind is mindnumbingly boring. corruption being the new titanforging makes me hate this patch as well.

I like the raid but I have a feeling theyre trying to turn raids into dungeons. I just cant for the life of me understand why theres so much trash.

We spent more time fighting trash then bosses to tonight and we killed 9 bosses.

Corruption isn’t even rewarding D_D Most of the raiders are keeping their corruption sub 40 and here’s me with 85 and getting chunked for 400K per Shadowclone and my DPS has barely budged. Sure, 400K is manageable but it’s not the softest blow. If I have double the DPS’ corruption, I should be able to compete w/ their DPS. (I have Stars, Ritual, and my tank 2H)

Well there was actually some kind of RP but weasn’t too long.

I actually don’t like it

Its great ! Love the classic tail smash, knocking us back but no whelps this time. Its a Friday night, pizza night, up till 4am fun. The Bosses are great and some of my favs already. The raid looks good, the colors and music all work well. I have really enjoyed this raid. I dont mind some of the other odd things from this patch…like doing more daily quest.

I love it, but it’s my first time raiding consistently since ulduar so my bias is huge.

I think the trash makes it cool because you get a lot more downtime to chat with your guildies to decompress and strategize between bosses. A lot of people just want to get down to business and kill bosses for loot, but idunno, for me I really just like being with my guild lol.

I get that ! More time to enjoy the raid as a group vs a group running, downing and leaving. I like hearing and adding to raid chat and boss strats.

Just the opposite here. I love hanging w/ my guildies and we do after raid is over. But we raid 3-4 hours a night for 3 nights. That’s barely enough time to clear Normal/Heroic and start on Mythic. There’s just so many bosses and trash. So we’re all in a gogogo- chain pull everything strategy. E.g., after opening the door to the outside. I pull the big guy, the next big guy + the 20 casters, and the pack by the empowerment pylons, all at the same time.

Yeah, if it’s just bosses you can’t really do that because you are always trying to stay in this zone. The amount of focus you need on trash is nothing in comparison so you can just chill with each other and have laughs. Then we’re also not overly serious when it’s time to face the bosses, which in turn helps performance and makes the group work together better.

I really like the effect, intentional or not, it’s definitely there and real.

I just did the LFR 3 bosses. Seemed pretty cool to me. Although I always thought it’s weird how the evil boss just waits for everybody before attacking.

Ya that seems like too much raiding for only 3 nights. Every guild works different though, so it’s nice that everyone can find the schedule that offers the experience they want or need.

I like the raid, for the most part. It’s a DK’s wet dream.

Xanesh, though… can eat a wet bag of… expletives.
