I for one respect other players and show curtesy avoiding them when already being fished. I’ve found that many don’t do this and yes I get it during the Derby, its a free for all. I even skip the “treasure” ones when being fished. Is the typical feeling on here who cares and so what? I’m trying to understand the game play culture to this activity, not trying to debate or get into any argument. Just trying to get a feeling about what others think. Maybe I need to change my behavior towards this if it’s accepted across the servers.
Im going to fish every nodes I see even if there is someone already fishing in that node. No one is paying my subscription.
- I bypass nodes if someone is already there…
- When people land at nodes that I am fishing at, I mildly curse them under my breath.
I usually /shoo people and if they have a modicum of decency they will leave.
But lately I don’t get fished on when I’m fishing.
Duel them for fishing rights
All due respect that option is counter productive when timing is an issue. Dueling someone would just open up the node for someone else to take it over.
If its splashin I’m castin…
j/k. I dont fish much
Thanks for the laugh either way. I kind of enjoy fishing to be honest. Even though the current rewards are kind of lame. I like gathering fish to give to friends who use them. I just know that for example with a “Treasure” node, the number of casts is set and if multiple peeps jump it, no one will get the full extent of the node. So it’s kind of defeating in my humble opinion to jump into others.
For the most part I’d leave people alone to their nodes unless I recognize them as someone that doesn’t return the same treatment. In which case its fair game and they could count on losing some fish any time I saw them hit a node.
I usually cast waterwalk, mount up on my yak, and position it as inconveniently as possible.
So with you it fully is a respect issue and for me I feel the same way. It just appears some don’t feel the same way.
I usually pass the node if I see someone else already there. It’s kinda like fishing in real life. See someone at a spot? Go around and find another one. There’s plenty of water and fish for everyone.
Cheers to ya and that reply!
The thought to not steal a Fishing Node has never crossed my mind.
Skinning someone else mob? Sure, they tagged it and killed it.
But a fishing node? You just happened to come across it first.
Allowable, but considered rude.
I too asked the question about skinning I get it, we dealing with lots of people, lots of attitudes and personalities. I just think a little kindness can make everyone’s game play more fun. Yes PvP is a whole other subject but we not discussing that right now.
Yeah it’s a respect thing. If I don’t recognize you as someone who has stepped on my toes then I will not step on your toes. The moment your name is connected with that act it’s on though.
I respect that honesty and answer. One question I do have and hope it doesn’t come across rude but if someone does step on your toes, do you reach out and try to talk to them? Or is that a lost cause?
It’s impolite.
It’s also a lose-lose situation. If you fish from my pool, we both lose. If you find your own pool, we both get all the fish from our respective pools.
So it’s impolite AND stupid.
Nah not worth it to me. I can’t be reported for fishing in the game. I can be if I said the wrong thing or anything at all and then it’s at a GM’s discretion as to whether or not I was in the wrong.
Making sure I hit any node I see them at? That’s fair game.
