Something that moves attention from Torghast comments and loot system, i wanted to hear your opinion what would (Lore-wise) be best class for archeologist.
Race more or less , ignoring the fact that Dwarfs have bonus to archeology , i was wondering more what class would me best fit
Shaman, they’d be able to move the earth around the artifact without damaging it.
I think hunter is a good class for a explorer/adventurer type of character for archeology and fits in the League of Explorer, also outlaw rogue can be like a “Indiana Jones” type of character IMO
And I think nearly all races can fit the archeology type of character, maybe Trolls and Tauren not so much, but thats my opinion hahaha.

That could be a hard one for me to think about as the loot seems to vary such as a cloth dress from the highborne mages to a headdress from orc shamans.
I already miss archeology and I think they missed a huge opportunity with the profession in Shadowlands.
Literally my favorite interaction thus far in the game was when I helped put in a play about the history of Azeroth. It was engaging and hilarious.
The interest those in Shadowlands have for the Maw Walker and the history of Azeroth has me thinking they’d love for us to go back to Azeroth or Draenor to bring back a relic to help unlock answers to some of the spirits now there.
It could’ve had a number of sweet call backs and even the unearthing of something we were not yet skilled enough when we originally cut our teeth learning archeology to find.
Maybe something even in an old dungeon instance we’d have to search for. I dunno, I see some cool story line possibilities. And clicking survey and moving to do it again is zero difference from clicking to kill a mob and then doing it again.
I keep hoping that Archeology comes back in 9.1 or 9.2. There is even a room in the hub for it.
Gonna agree with you both. Its a shame they ended it (no crumb trail lore for you!). I enjoyed the times I got bit by the bug to dig and would have enjoyed unearthing relics from the land where the first souls still wander.
Could have been a way to sneak in and explore storyline traction on new minor characters too. 
You can’t really have artifacts when the entire realm is ancient and unknown. Everything is timeless.
No kidding, which is why I said “the history of Azeroth has me thinking they’d love for us to go back to Azeroth or Draenor to bring back a relic” because it would make sense that with the denizens of the Shadowlands being interested in our homelands and histories, that they would be very interested in such things.
I guess what I am thinking is they’d sent us back to places like the Stonetalon Mountains, and we’d visit existing dig sites or even new ones but the items desired require that Archeology needs to be at a certain minimum level that would equate to us being more able archeologists to find more specific artifacts that they may be interested in.
Mages - Find the artifact and then reverse time to restore it.
Race, I’ll say Trolls. They were the first race so they should be interested in it.
Class, I’ll say Hunter since they should be more interested in the land they should come across ruins more often.
