Yes I know, I’m not the greatest player on earth but I truly think this is the case after playing around Season 4 for a bit now. Compare these dungeons to something in bfa for example and you’ll see what I mean. There are bosses that slowly turn into bullet hells like dragon hogwarts, there are trash that have information overload of the sheer amount of things you need to watch out for and interrupt. Seriously. My bigwigs goes off like a machine gun in some of these dragonflight dungeons. Some of these bosses have more intense mechanics than some early raid bosses. Maybe I’m alone in this opinion but in comparison to previous expansions I do as a matter of fact feel like these dungeons are a bit too hard.
I don’t think people have a good memory:
BFA brings Siege of boralus, kings’ rest, Tol’dagor, Shrine of the Storms.
Yeah. Shrine needed an absurd amount of kicks, Tol Dagor would would bring it’s own friends to the party (on top of Korgus), KR had tuning issues all expansion (even in S4, if you got spit gold twice in a row on 1st boss, some classes just died), and Siege had that Ashvane spotter mob, and to do that dungeon on high keys you needed to be able to abuse it to clear the back half of the instance for you.
Dungeons are fine. M+ feels harder because you’re starting at 12s with gear equal to upgraded heroic dungeons. Will be a cake walk once you get 505ilvl like s3 was. This season had a bigger ilvl jump people are not used to it yet.
You think DF dungeons are too hard, and you think BFA dungeons are too easy, but that’s because we have only had 1 season in total for each DF dungeon, this is technically season 2 for each OG DF dungeon.
For BFA we have had 4 seasons during BFA and 2 expansions since so you think BFA was easy, at the time I remember running M10’s in the first season and it was hard, but since have gotten used to them all over time and now find them all super easy, even when just levelling through BFA because I know them back to front.
If we had 3 entire expansions of DF dungeon we would not be thinking they were easy, we would know them back to front AND have had 3 entire expansions of nerfs and buffs.
This too, 480+ in S3 is equal to 520+ in S4, we had a +39 iLVL jump. People were running around in S3 at 470+ iLVL doing M15 with ease, that would need 510+ for an M5 for it to feel the same.
I ran an M6 the other day at 493 iLVL, it was a little slower than I am used to, but it’s still possible to do and do on time.
I didn’t play the first 2 seasons much but yea I consider DF dungeons a bit overloaded. I downloaded the weakaura that shows spells on cd for enemies because there’s so many abilities you just never want them to cast on a short cd which moreover you can’t interrupt. Many abilities have to be CCd to stop them in dragonflight dungeons and for me that’s not great. Overall I don’t consider them too hard but yes compared to the last season which was the easiest season of all time it will feel harder.
Outside of Like… vault and Brackenhide I don’t think most of the dungeons have been that hard.
Certainly not like ones Like Kings Rest (where the first boss felt like he could have been a raid boss) or Tol dagor (narrow passages+ CC mobs+ Affixes that could go through the floor//ceiling.)
I have faith that you can complete a follower dungeon, and I think it’s great thats where the difficulty starts for people who aren’t very good at the game. I also think it’s a good thing that the difficulty scales for the very best players, so they can have a challenge if they want.
Having difficulty levels you can’t complete is a good thing, it provides stuff for everyone to do.
