Have you done the world boss that’s up right now? Literally people zerg it with fresh rez bodies rather than run out of the madness mechanic.
Personally, I don’t think it needs to be nerfed. We have benthic gear that can scale up to 425 so I think the dungeon is tuned with that in mind. The dungeon itself drops 415 gear so if you’re not at that ilvl, you might struggle.
It’s definitely doable and easy at lower ilvls, you just have to execute the mechanics properly. When I did my run, the avg ilvl of the group was 408.
That is exactly it. People don’t out gear it yet so they say it is too hard.
I would say the latter. A group of us did the dungeon this week and the only issues we had were learning the mechanics and the Bugs in the dog fight.
Yes it was a challenge, but it is supposed to be a challenge. I know it will go faster next week because we now know the fights.
It is a fun dungeon.
Exactly the same thing here. Dog fight is a little buggy with getting hit through boxes (not sure if it has to do with the box enlarging when it becomes red, and then the other box also clipping inside the box that the player model is now clipping through?). We stood back from the box one step and it was fine. Aside from that the rest of the dungeon wasn’t hard at all, it was just a matter of learning the fights. Took us a couple times maybe each boss and we one shot the gardner.
As all Human Male Paladins are well aware.
But It’s easy… what’s wrong with content being harder than normal? Reminds me of BC, I love it. I’m also an extremely casual noob, but I cleared it in my first try with a pug.
I agree, it is nice to have a challenge. Yes it took us longer than we figured, and yes we wiped. But challenges are supposed to be like that.
It was much more fun than the Curator when Return to Kara came out. Of course when we did Kara, we were really under-geared, and it was rough.
Mechagon is reasonably easy…
If the tank has a brain…
If the healer is not afk…
If the dps dont stand in every mechanic…
So yes, pugging mechagon is pure cancer but i like it regardless.
I’ve heard so many bad things I am not even attempting mechagon even though my main is well prepped for it. I play the game for what little fun I can get out of it. Not to be grouped with 4 strangers and be frustrated for 3 hours.
Hardest thing in Mecha was the pack before King Mecha
Get better. It isn’t that hard, it’s 80-90% mechanics.
I know it’s a funny idea, but sometimes people like to do things for other than gear. Sometimes we do things because they are challenging.
Remember the Mage Tower?
So on the one hand you say it’s too hard, and then that the gear reward isn’t great. So if the gear reward isn’t that good, and it’s hard, why bother doing it at all?
Because…there are other rewards. Like HoA esences, blueprints, mounts, pets and so on. All fun things to get for the effort involved.
This desire to nerf the challenge of the game out of existence is one reason we have WoW the way it is now.
The only complaint I have with Op: Mecha right now is the Kujo fight. I’ve been killed through boxes multiple times.
…Probably won’t mind the rest of it, certainly didn’t mind the first four fights, but Kujo needs fixed.
We were doing that an hour ago and found it was because if you stand too close to the box it doesn’t consider you protected by it. Take one tiny step back from it and you’ll be fine.
On topic: screw Mechagon and his giga zap. We were so not ready for that fight. I suppose we’ll try again next week.
The problem there is they made normal Mythic’s gear too good. Should have been 385. I haven’t tried since patch so maybe they buffed them significantly, but BEFORE the patch i could literally solo Mythic 0. Farmed Motherlode on my engineer for the mount mats.
That is not deserving of 400 ilvl gear+titanforges.
Did it last weekend and while it was somewhat frustrating, we did have tons of fun and it felt amazing finishing it. I healed it with my crappy 400ivl gear. The only encounter which really made me sweat was the twins, with that ridiculous dot they apply.
We end up taking a picture in the garden after finishing, and it was a pug with complete strangers. It was the most “MMO” experience I had in a long, long time. We were talking and laughing all the way, by the two hours mark I was quite burned out and starting playing like garbage, they didn’t even cared for it.
I love this expansion and this patch.
King doesn’t actually do that much damage if everyone soaks the smash and lights up all 4 towers / bot immediately. The damage from him is something you’re more than prepared for.
Setting up a kick rotation on Trixie pretty well eliminates all forms of damage from that encounter. Other than that you just have to avoid the big wheel.
Agreed, I enjoyed the dungeon a lot. My group wiped some. We finished the dungeon and we got some new shiny gear. Next week it will go faster.
People are just a little upset because their skill level is not up to it yet and just need to gear a little more before they are able to complete. NO PROBLEM WITH NEEDING TO GEAR A LITTLE.
I think this is one of the biggest issues that exists these days. People are smashing through content too fast because it is under-tuned, not over-tuned. Gone are the days people had to do lower levels of instances to learn and gear up so that they could start higher level content.
Mythic raiders should not be selling AOTC for the new raid at this point, they should be in that content earning the gear that would allow them to start Mythic raids.
Because of this change, people are complaining when challenging content is actually challenging.
When we made it through Operation: Mech, we felt a sense of accomplishment because we beat the challenge, and we are excited to do it again to see if we can remember what we learned and go faster. Then we are excited to try hard-mode.
