Title. Hacking to bring down the boss for phase 2 is bugged, you just stand there and channel with no progress until the unit resets you. I see a bug report that its fixed but its not. Unless im missing something, ive tried on 2 different toons on both heroic and mythic on two different days.
I’ve beaten it on warlock. Demonic Gate definitely helps.
I believe its around 50 seconds of channeling in order to “hack” the device, which puts boss down long enough to kill.
Yes, its very annoying to solo.
I’ve been soloing Mechagon (Heroic daily and Mythic weekly) since the housing patch went live, and it’s been working. Do note that the progress bar only seems to show up if you have the actual node selected. The “channel” bar remains full, and it does not display any useful information. However, if you explicitly target the node itself, you shoud see its energy / mana / secondary bar drop as long as you keep channeling. When I started recently doing it again for decor, I thought it was bugged. But then I realized that I just could no longer see the bar progress unless I clicked on the actual node thing.
Also note that the same seems to be true for the Aerial Unit’s beam timer: I had to have it explicitly targeted to see it. Thus, I had to click back and forth to make sure I was hacking fast enough.
Generally, though, even on Mythic, I was hacking plenty fast compared to the beam’s countdown.
