Openworld Questing To Easy

Should rename this to easycore. What with mob aoe tagging with 20 people powerleveling 1 person. Just farm greens, and even if you dc, you won’t die. Dungeon leveling is the only hard part about hardcore lol

Classic Hardcore isn’t hard despite having the word “hard” in it. I know this might come to a shock to a lot of players that struggle with the game. It’s a 20 year old “beat” game. It’s been completely figured out. If you want a challenge, go to retail and do a mythic 20, or a mythic raid, or get 2700+ rated in competitive PvP.

Dungeon leveling isn’t any harder than questing, it’s also not necessarily easier, it’s just different. Also the reason they set the dungeons to one per day has more to do with keeping people out and about in the world, which it has been effective at, not to make the game easy or hard.

As for hardcore, it’s was never meant to define difficulty, it only ever referred to all deaths being permanent. The term originated in D2, and while certainly it was harder pre-expansion to level in D2 it was never a hard game.

I agree. It makes open world questing ANNOYING to do.

Assume you’re talking fresh? It’s quite nice on Defias, once some of the FOTM players leave, it should improve on Fresh.

Oh I agree. On Defias, it’s probably not that bad, since everyone’s on Doom. My preference is a full prot spec warrior or resto druid, for leveling. So, it’s not very viable without dungeon spamming. My playstyle doesn’t really match well with the 1 dungeon rule. :frowning: I already canceled my sub (13 days left) so it doesn’t really matter anymore.

I actually find prot is a pretty solid questing/leveling spec, in fact its probably better for that then end game raiding.

It’s not “fun” to solo prot warrior, for me. My whole focus is on threat/taking low dmg, not doing dmg and questing. I actually don’t like questing. When I played retail, way back when, I’d STOP questing 100% when I could queue for LFD. Back on nost I had a level 26 super twink that would do deadmines all day for groups. I’d spend like 6 hours a day just doing deadmines over and over, without gaining hardly any exp or coin. In phase 1 SOD, I would do DeadMines over and over at level 25, then quit when phase 2 hit.

What if they added the experience eliminator to hardcore, where if you have your exp off, you can do as many dungeons as you want. Only when you turned your exp back on you would be limited to 1 dungeon of each type per day till 60 again. That way I could spam dungeons.

self found is ok , going to the ah and stacking your character with paid for gear is lame hardcore, being carried in dungeons is not hardcore as well.

You play the way you want, but leveling full prot is just an objectively bad decision, even if you can dungeon spam. Tanking in Classic is weird because the more geared and defensive heavy you get with stats the less rage you can build up. There’s really very little sense in being a full prot warrior while leveling, or if you do at least not until much later levels; and even then if you overgear content you can easily rage starve yourself. Throw in a priest who didn’t take the “When to shield warriors 101” class and you have a mess on your hands.

The HC addon required one and done so one a day is more relaxed than it used to be.

If you want personal challenge though you could also play on Classic fresh and just play by the rules of what you want. The addon nor a specific server are really required beyond holding you accountable.

The one dungeon a day is a limit HC specifically put in so I can’t say flat out removal or redesign would break the game. That said, I do like that with the limit it forces more outdoor participation/interaction and downplays powerleveling or gold farming at lower levels and I can’t imagine them changing much in this regard either.

Maybe if they ever try to do a seasonal version of HC with new conditions though.

I wasn’t asking for you to tell me what’s good or bad. I enjoy prot warrior tanking leveling. End of story.

If by layering and competing and NOT grouping is what you mean… That’s my experience. Collect quests do NOT promote group activity.
