Opening a ticket?

Can you seriously not open a ticket or call to get a hold of anyone that works at Blizzard? Like seriously man… what happen to you Blizzard? You used to have the most amazing Customer Service and I’ve been trying to get ahold of someone for 2 weeks!

Anytime you try to open a ticket or call it just gives you the “suggested action” BS.

  1. Had an issue where items disappeared when I tried to remove them from my mailbox and put them in my inventory.

  2. Had a good real life friend and champion of azeroth pass away at the end of March. He was playing classic up until then. His account remained on auto pay for the month to month subscription. His mom reached out to me because she noticed it was still drawing from his account. She was trying to find a way to reach Blizzard but you guys make it nearly impossible to do so. She wasn’t looking for any restitution just reaching out to possibly get the auto withdraws to stop.

If anyone could assist it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time.

You can submit a ticket in game, or is that not what you mean?

You could also try the Customer Support forum

most corporations have abandoned the “call a customer service representative” option in favor for 24 hour online self assistance automated systems, due to cost and their availability. why pay someone minimum wage to help customers when you can set up an automated software that solves 65% of the playerbase’s issues

Yea I tried to open a ticket in-game and when you go to the “open a ticket” it just has a box you fill out and after it gives you a “suggested action” but it doesn’t actually submit a ticket to be reviewed.

Maybe ill try that forum! Thanks :]

Nah I get what you mean. I’m becoming the old grumpy old man that just wants to talk to someone to get to the end of the issue not be asked by a bot and run around in circle. Just frustrating lol.

Thanks man

It costs a lot of money. Big companies spend millions of dollars each year for “customer service”. All those “Apple store employees” might be 20% of the cost of a new iphone from Apple. Maybe more.

You can’t spend that kind of money, and only charge $15/mo for your product. You can’t include “live person customer service” at that price.

You mention 2 issues, that are handled by 2 different departments at any company. One is a billing issue. The other is an in-game bug.

Good luck.

I mean they have for over a decade :man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging:
And the game is still relevant with new xpacks coming out and they have a huge player base. Sounds more like they got greedy and axed jobs to put more money in their pocket to me

In order to submit a ticket you just have to keep closing the boxes trying to direct you to the faq or forum and eventually you get to send them an actual ticket. Takes a lot longer than it used to. Probably because they laid off most of their staff.

Tyyyyy! Will try it later

Sure they can. They did so for decades. They also had innovative content instead of rehashed garbage and stupid things like pathfinding.

What they, and apparently you believe, is they can’t have record profits and a great game with good customer service.

You can definitely put in a ticket for a GM to have a look. You’ll need to include the date/time as well as character and server information for the GM to know which character to look at. Be sure to include a list of the items.

What I will note though, is that it could be a UI or addon issue to. So before putting in a ticket do a Full UI Reset. The GM’s going to tell you to anyway, so best to get it out of the way before you put in the ticket.
Here’s a link for you to put in a ticket:

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. You friend’s mom will want to put in a ticket using the link below. I don’t know if it’s still required or not, but in the past a copy of the death certificate has been required to cancel the reoccurring subscription. Unless she has access to his Account section of the website (like if it auto-logs in on his computer). She could cancel it there too.

For her ticket, she can use this link:
https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/product/services/316/322/solution

I don’t believe she needs to be logged into a battle.net account for that ticket option either.

I hope that helps Pwn, and feel free to post in the CS forums if you or your friend’s mom still needs a hand!

The subscription is paid via card. Report the card stolen/lost and have a new card issued with new numbers. Done.

If she has access to the bank account then she could remove the funds from said account, the subscription fee will bounce and Blizzard’s system will stop the subscription.

While that would likely break the sub, it would cause other undue hardships for the mother. It’s possible she’s already cancelling the card if it was in her son’s name, but what if the card is in her name? Cancelling it would mean changing other subscriptions etc.

Not to mention waiting for a new card is a pain!

Blizz will absolutely help out in these cases. It just takes a ticket.

Ty Perl! That was a great post. Ill forward that to her and let her know.

As Mid said, you CAN open a ticket, they just make it really hard. And even then, the help you’ll get is a far cry from the excellent support that used to be a hallmark of WoW and Blizzard.

Recently a quest I was doing was bugged. The NPC was acting like someone else was doing the quest but they weren’t. I explained in my ticket that I had verified that no one was doing the quest two different ways and described them. No less than THREE times I got the same response from Bliz that someone else was doing the quest and I just had to wait. Three times they closed the ticket without even addressing it. Actually the never did address it. A few days later while still resubmitting it, the quest NPC became not bugged.

Sure. But it’s harder to get Blizzard to do it than to just tick a box on the bank website.

She just calls the bank my guy and they stop the payments from going out.

This automatically happens to my account from time to time as the bank will see the charges and think its fraudulent and stop payments even though I have told them 57 times that its for an online gaming subscription.

I really really hope this is trolling or sarcasm.

Blizzard offered live customer service for years. Now all of a sudden they can’t afford it with their CEO making $40 million and the company making a net income of $1.5 billion last year?

Bugs are to be reported via the in-game bug report menu or Bug report forum. GM’s don’t take bug reports nor can they give game hints about how to sort out quest phasing, find quest chains, etc.

The only time they can help with a bug is if QA has confirmed something IS a bug, and authorized them to provide specific assistance for it.

I am going to guess by the GM response your issue was not on a list of Bugs they were authorized to deal with, or your issue was not considered a bug. Glad it resolved on its own. For future reference, dropping a quest and acquiring it again is often a good way to re-set quest issues.

Of course they can provide live support, and do. They got rid of the call-in line years ago. Instead they have two means for live support - for Billing, Account Access issues, and some Tech Support issues. Live Chat and Phone Callback are available during business hours most of the time.
