Open world survival with Grimoire of Sacrifice

Hey, new to the Warlock Spec. I have been enjoying playing as a warlock. Now, I leveled up as a demonologist but I wanted to try the other specs. I loved the idea of playing as a Shadow Wizard Money Gang spec. While I like direct damage, DoTs aren’t too bad. I just loved the whole vampiric leeching aspects of it and I’ve been using murloc io to see the best mythic plus talents. Dungeons have been great but the problem is the open world content. I like Grimoire of Sacrifice because I am a strong independent Shadow Wizard who needs no Demon. I see that it’s currently viable too (I wouldn’t care if it wasn’t). But anyways, that’s the meta right now.

So the problem is, I have been dying… a lot. As a demon, I razed them up with demon meteors, demon bolts, demons. As affliction, the best I can do is get my void walker. But I don’t wanna be no weak shadow wizard. So, how can I survive better as a Shadow Wizard and add the Money Gang with it?

I start with unstable affliction, agony, corruption, siphon life for single target and then do the malefic rupture. Gets the job done, but how can I do better with multiple targets? What’s the demonless survivability rotation for multiple targets without dying and at the best, with low health?

In Open World Soul Leech (your passive shield) should carry you through anything that is not a strong Rare, unless you’re completely naked.

Edit: In AoE just gather up the enemies, cast Seed of Corruption, Vile Taint and UA on priority target, next spend shards on Malefic Rupture or seeds.
If you need more survivability, use Shadowfury to stun them, Dark Pact and Unending Resolve to get a massive shield and damage reduction. You can also spec into Inevitable Demise (pairs well with Vile Taint) and bunch of other talents that boost your Drain Life.

Your life will be much easier with a tanking demon.

Yes, but the question was what they could do without demons.

For survivability, take soul leech over permanent corruption, choose gear with leech, use the voidwalker’s shadow bulwark ability and lots of drain life. The OP should play the MoP timewalking thing. I wound up dismissing my voidwalker in favor of the imp as the voidwalker could not take anywhere near the damage I could. It crumpled and I take no damage.

Soul Leech is your baseline passive shield, not a talent.

They don’t want to play with demons as Affliction.

Don’t tell the OP what they “should” do. It’s a game with a good variety of activities you could do, they should do whatever activity the want to.

Sorry, siphon life.

When you dismiss a pet, you get an ability from it. The voidwalker gives you shadow bulwark.

LOL. It was a suggestion not a mandate. Take a chill pill.

My bad, didn’t think you’re speaking about GoS consumed ability.

Sorry if it looked aggressive. I just seen too many times people forcing other people into content or playstyle they don’t want. Your suggestion just looked out of place in a topic about demonless Affliction. Sorry if I took it the wrong way.
