Open World PvP gives XP

They should make it so when you kill someone in the open world while leveling it gives you XP. They also should buff the amount of honor you get for an open world kill vs a BG kill. Let me know what you guys think but this sounds like a really fun way to level to me.

The word on the street is that killing people in STV will give XP somehow.

It sounds like some interesting ideas, and I think the spirit of classic and world pvp go hand in hand!

With SoD, I get the impression that changes, for the most part, are relatively isolated to the rune system, so it might make sense to have WPVP-centric runes to go along with your ideas. I think that’d be pretty spectacular, really, and who knows, maybe they’d implement some sort of system where equipping WPVP-centric runes opened up some sort of cross-server, opt-in WPVP leveling areas, or zones with pvp objectives.

A 40 man raid making their rounds in stv with 30 mages and 10 priest pulls up on you at nesingwary wyd?

They’d obviously have to disable WPvP XP for people in raid groups unless they wanted it to be mega degenerate. Ideally the most XP by far for solo players.

Way too casual unfriendly, it would be an insane p2-like bloodbath which would only serve to destroy the population

Solo ppl will just complain that people are playing in groups

I mean kinda cool in theory, it would be exploited beyond belief in a matter of hours. Someone does bring up a good point too, honor farming before bgs was insane on classic launch. 40 idiots roaming around ganking 2 people.

Even that aside, the incentive to just camp/gank everyone would be a bit nuts when pvp is already prevalent. I’m sure stv will be chaos enough as is.

Could be alleviated by giving people the honorless target buff for a minute or so after rezzing.

Have PvP XP be disabled for people in raids, and have it split between party members to incentivize solo play.

Thinking about it, it’s probably gonna be a repeatable quest to get kills or objectives in stv

they already have a solution to this with diminishing returns on honor. would be the same with XP

How are you even drawing conclusions from assumptions about how things may “possibly” work… seriously… are you like this IRL?

Let’s be real, this is just overhyped pipedreaming on our part. I’d love it if that was possible too, but it won’t happen.

No extra rewards/incentives are needed for WPvP kills. Surviving and defeating another player is enough.
