Open world feels dead

Any zone, any time. Its dead out there. Can blizzard consider adding bots to make it feel more alive? A new player would honestly think the game was dead until they wandered into their faction capital and saw the only other person not in valdrakken.

Yes these bots could tag npcs and take mining/herb nodes. Its simple, make it feel alive again

Honestly I think its because of sharding. :person_shrugging:

Loads of times I’ve seen a rare then slipped into a different shard and suddenly had a few players waiting around me who’ve been waiting awhile for it to spawn, etc.

False; I see people every hour on the hour ready for the next Time Rift in Thaldraszus, making their way to the next Primal Storm spawn, or headed towards a raid or dungeon entrance.

Too many layers, the trash that is war-mode and it’s always kinda been dead, plus we’re at the end of an expansion where people have done what they wanna do and are playing other games.

Delete layers, delete shards, add blizzard controlled bots.

Love the wow forum community

“Delete sharding, delete layers”

Followed by

“Wtf blizz why am I lagging so much, rares aren’t spawning… they must be bugged”

We need some layers. I don’t understand what shards are, no comment on that… but blizzard controlled bots? Do you mean get rid of the bots?

This is probably the main reason, but there are other variables.

There aren’t as many players as there used to be. The world is also enormous now.

Only if the bots also compliment you and say “Dang (character name) looking cute today” and give you 40 gold and bags and invite you to their bot guild and carry you in m+10 for free and trade all loot at the end of the carry and enchant your gear and give you all consumables and let you rob the guild bank with 8 million gold in it

It absolutely is. There are too many shards. I hate this system. I miss old realms.

We don’t have layers in retail.
layers would be fine, sharding is not.

No, blizzard needs to add bots that mimic real players so the world looks alive again

is this another Ilili thread? I think it is from what people were saying.

I’m seeing people everywhere, in DF, SL, Classic, where ever I go.

Gonna go with a hard pass on that one, it would feel like an NPC knowing they aren’t people.

Less layers, remove warmode and go back to PVP/PVE servers.

Ive been leveling this toon to 70. Only warmode seems to have people. Even in the dragon isles pve mode the zones are dead…

Remember, not all realms are the same. When you click on change realm how is your realm defined? Is the population “high”, “low”, “new players”, what are the other settings?

go to pvp open world. plenty of players try to decapitate me daily.

This is what happens when you nuke world content into the ground and the rewards are very bad too. Along with the region wide auction house destroying the material market.

I hope that raid loggers are happy now.

I don’t think the world was every really popular barring farming specific mobs for materials or a new leveling zerg.

WoW has mainly been a instance based game for almost 20 years now. It woukd be weird if it changed at this point.

World empty? Finally no more distractions and disturbance on my objectives and kills.
