So you have absolutely no idea what a Beta is
Testing is obviously super important. Feedback is super important.
Letting most people’s first impression of the game be an unfinished game played, and commented on by some random person who probably only cares about their own subs or whatever does not seem like a smart thing to do.
You think a beta of an upcoming expansion is going to be someone’s first real experience with WoW, and not the live client?
No one would have their first impressions be based on an beta…I’d hope!
And I don’t think someone would do WoW content if they didn’t care about WoW, at least on some level. I watch a number of War Thunder players and a good number of them sure will bring up a lot of questionable decisions the developers make and criticize the game proper, but they still care about the game. You kind of have to if you dedicate yourself to making stuff about it.
I’m not too sure what you’re upset about anymore. You keep moving the goalposts.
No. When I say “the game”, I am talking about Midnight specifically.
If I was about to release a creative work, I would not like it to be shown unfinished and criticized in public by the people who I have asked to help me test it.
Imagine you were making a painting and you asked your friend to have a look and instead of telling you in private what they thought, they took a cellphone picture of your art at critiqued/criticized it on social media before you were done wiith it.
And, if I’m a fan of your art and the first I see of your new painting is an unfinished version through someone else’s presentation, it’s obviously worse than seeing the finished thing.
Beta
This is a false equivalence, WoW is Massively Multiplayer online roleplaying game. Emphasis on the multiplayer and game. This is not a personal private project to share among friends.
Seems an odd thing to be on about. Why would you care if someone watches it? You don’t need to.
Well that is not correct. Paid access does not imply exclusively paid access, just that payment results in access.
With that said, I do not know anybody with beta access that hasn’t paid. Why would Blizzard give me beta access when it is the main incentive right now for me to give them $90?
Nothingburger issues. More at 11.
I got in almost to all betas before they had paid beta access, i guess they got smart having players test the game and pay for it lol
telling me i’m wrong, while also telling me i’m right?

in case you missed what i was responding to:
You know, you could just choose not to watch streams labeled “beta” without ruining everyone else’s excitement for the new parts of the game. Your whole post is from the perspective that you are the only person who matters and everyone should go out of their way and even be prevented from enjoying the game in their way all to make sure you don’t accidentally see a spoiler.
No no no no no no no
I can’t!!!?!!?!!!
Wait then how is it an open beta if everyone doesn’t have access? Open beta means….open to everyone.
Easiest solution ever, stop watching them for now. Watch a different content creator or different content.
The answer is still the same whether it’s you or someone else. If they are choosing to click on a beta stream or video they are choosing to experience it that way. It’s not like every single player is watching beta content. My brother only gets the info I tell him, and he shuts me up when I go into territory he doesn’t want to hear.
Some grand stand against sharing beta content is silly.
I suspect streamers, having some people around them to bounce ideas off of and catch misunderstandings of wierd events, submit better bug reports than I do.
i would put forward that exactly zero people paid for the expansion tier needed for beta, for only beta access.
Well I don’t want commercials or ads no, I block them everywhere. But no it’s not the same anyway.
being in betas has only ruined the game for me when it went live. By the time the content drops, Im already burned out and needing a break from gaming entirely.
Ehhhhhhhh sometimes it nice, like that GTA 6 footage.
I can’t say all or none but I can speak for at least myself, I bought the top tier and have zero intention of playing the beta.
I am not even watching or reading about beta now, as we get closer I’ll check in to see how specs have changed but not to “spoil it,” just to have a brief idea of what will be changing for my main prior to levelling
I guess you were not here where people freaking out on the forums 1st day of beta when they couldnt play
