Oozing With Character? You must be joking

I’ve been trying to unlock the trio of achievements, “Friend of ______,” via completing the “Oozing With Character,” daily quest in Korthia. The daily quest doesn’t like to show up; it’s pretty rare.

After months of checking Korthia, I’ve got.

  • Friend of Plaguey, 10/10
  • Friend of Ooz 5/10
  • Friend of Bloop 6/10

Months. No exaggeration.

Finally the quest is up and guess who I’m taking for a stroll? Why, Plaguey, of course! Because RNG sucks.

Couldn’t there be a way to speak with Plague Deviser Marileth to swap out slimes? He seems like a pretty agreeable guy.

“I’d like to bond with Ooz today, Marileth.”

I’m not asking for a lot, c’mon…

you guys will LOVE free-to-play. chance-to-fail crafting is a cool f2p feature too.

change-to-fail leggo crafting… that’s the stuff we need!

I was coming here to post exactly the same thing! I can’t believe its Plaguey again :frowning:
This is months of frustration, I’m on exactly the same numbers.
How is this even an achievement? God forbid you miss the day that the quest actually pops that you need…

Important updated information for OP - the latest PTR patch notes for 9.2 have them lowering the requirement for the achievement to doing the quest with each ooze 3 times each instead of 10 times each.

So good news, you’ve basically already completed it. (You’ll just have to wait till 9.2 to get it to pop).

That said, it was a bad design for an achievement, and they should learn and avoid that in the future. (It’s still actually a bad design overall - they should be attentive enough to put in internal quest rotations on things like that instead of leaving it to hard RNG).

Thanks for the good news, bud.

I wouldn’t even mind if they left the achievement alone if they’d just let us talk with Marileth… or if the daily was up constantly…

That’s quite reasonable.

Maybe the individual who punched in the numbers just wasn’t aware of how infrequently they were up.
