So I dusted off my 245 resto shaman that only had unholy shards leveled up not frost. I did H Syl to help a community-run and this was the results:
2.5K DPS & 7.6k HPS: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/bTxPmdGJC86pqWgN#fight=4&type=damage-done
Then we look at my 250 MW Monk who’s lowest DPS parse is 98% across all of H SOD. I am significantly better on my MW Monk than my Resto Shaman. I am average at best on a Shaman. Here are my MWers logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/us/proudmoore/botán#difficulty=4&metric=dps
The most BALANCED log I have on her is here: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/2zywDvWfLG4QmgtP#fight=33&type=damage-done
2.4k DPS and 6.8k HPS
My BEST parse for dmg is here: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/yZpP9MK8bcXzdt2r#fight=1&type=healing
Where I did 2.6k DPS and 6.6k HPS
And as you can tell I was FOCUSed on doing dmg, ran frost shards, and did very little direct healing. On my Shaman, I was throwing out a ton of meatballs but focused on healing a TON.
This is very annoying that I can poorly play a resto shaman without the proper setup and str8 up beat my Monk who is better geared, who has 3x as many H Syl kills, twice as many heroic kills, and 11 times as many mythic boss kills and arguably a MUCH better player as a Monk.

#thenewrastlin!
Healing numbers aren’t that important this late into the tier, especially on heroic. So many factors go into it, and mostly just comes down to if your raid lead feels like dropping a healer or two so they can parse.
As for damage, MW is fairly solid at the end of the day (in raid). Shaman is ahead of MW, but not by that much. Pally is the outlier of course, but this probably won’t be the case next patch.
In terms of hps, MW is definitely the top this tier, but the ST damage isn’t that bad. Where MW’s damage really suffers is in m+. Raid is fine.
I wish I had an interrupt on my mw.

Wish heroic Sylvanus 2 weeks before 9.2 was a good metric for literally anything at all

Its a very anecdotal premise but before the thread gets disregarded there is a real issue here and it is that mw doesn’t have good borrowed options to do more damage, to a unique extent even. Asking for buffs just means they will get more muddled when they remove all the borrowed power…again. Also a big reason why our borrowed power in particular is in this state is that our borrowed powers are all tailored to the spec instead of being one size fits all like most of the others.
By this I mean abilities like our venthyr and Kyrian where the ability itself does different things based on spec vs things like ashen which function effectively the same for all three and allows holy paladins an in for doing more damage as a option despite being a healer. Worse this impacts all of our borrowed power systems since we lack a generic legendary option for strictly doing damage as well as generic conduits that could be used for damage.
Honestly part of why I dislike mistweaver this expansion is I’m not fond of the borrowed power we got, not being able to tailor my build to do what I please is a big turn off since I feel that’s the main appeal of borrowed power. Also this is not to be confused with a “I think mistweaver is bad” or even “mistweaver needs buffs” its just that mistweaver’s borrowed power options don’t allow for the choice to drop healing for damage for any significant gain compared to others.

1 / 10 in the trolling department.
Maybe start with something more interesting next time like ‘No DR Cooldown’
Might need raid wide stagger
