So I'm not really sure, but did anyone ever actually figure out what the trigger was of Onyxia's deep breath?
If not, it could be quite a bit of fun having another shot at solving that riddle with her original iteration returning to official servers.
No, they wouldn't even tell the Nost developers at their meeting.

Clearly its a global event that is told to all players when a GM kills a player for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Obviously, :P

Someone listens to Countdown to Classic :P
The lack of ''Boi'' memes is disappointing.
Jeff Kaplan said it was totally random, in an interview that was up on Gamespy (sadly, now long gone.) Ergo, the longer she was in the air, the more chances she'd have to do it.
Well, that should be one of the easiest theories to prove/disprove, as it would result in a very even distribution over time after enough samples are taken.11/04/2018 02:31 AMPosted by WeiliJeff Kaplan said it was totally random, in an interview that was up on Gamespy (sadly, now long gone.) It’s based of a timer. x => 30 seconds, start timer 1-45, every second roll 1/10, 10 gets a deep breath. For a rough picture something of this sorts. You could out dps the timer and get her to land before breathing. Early on the Dps isn’t there so you’d get anywhere from 1-5 deep breaths. Unless tons of people died. But then you would usually die to whelps.
