Currently you can only get the buff from the Onyxia Head turn in when there is not a head being displayed in SW.
This makes it so that guilds that start raiding an hour after another guild starts they aren’t able to get a head buff and puts them at a disadvantage raiding.
On private servers the head gave the buff anytime one was turned in so that guilds couldn’t abuse the cooldown mechanic against another guild and make them miss out on a buff.
With servers going to single layers soon I believe it should be changed so that not only the hardcore raiding guilds can get the buffs for their raids and allows the more casual raiding guilds to get the world buffs as well.

So don’t start an hour after another guild?
Seriously, are you suddenly unable to complete a raid if you don’t have that buff? If you can complete the raid, no problem.
If you can’t the problem’s far larger than whether the buff is available this hour or not.

It doesn’t matter what Private servers do, everything is built around the 1.12 reference client that Blizzard have. If that’s what’s in the reference client then badluck.

If you’re doing this “for the logs” it’s silly, but if you’re concerned about that aspect of the competition so much then adjust your raid times so you get the buff. If you actually need it for progression, and I assume probably better for BWL than MC or Onyxia right now, what some guilds did was everyone hearth right before you started the fight on the boss you needed the buff for, turn the head in and get back to the raid instance. You really don’t need the buff to start the raid.
Why did you dig up a 20 day old post
For the same reason I am.
Also the Ony buff should not be CD’d. There are so many kills of Ony going on the CD is always used.

Then its on you to communicate with other guilds in your faction to see when they’re dropping their buffs.
Classic stays like Vanilla.
So suggestions for changes/improvements are silly.
