So I heard this new ring was an upgrade because of the interaction between the Prophetic and Desirous stone.
I’ve spent hours between yesterday and today to get it, and I finally have it!!!
My concern is that I’m now hearing that the only reason this was even a marginal upgrade was because of a bug - which may get fixed???
Are they really going to fix a bug to nerf a marginal power upgrade when players have already spent tons of hours farming out the gems while also smashing our other gems in order to get the 424 upgrades?
This patch launched TUESDAY! If you put tons of hours for an item that is intended to be replaced early in 10.1. Thats on you.
Additionally you heard something, and instead of looking into it, you poured “hours” into it, without actually learning about it.
Out of curiosity, what content are you doing that you need BIS anything? Sure a BIS item is nice to have, but you are 387ilvl with 281 M+ score and 8/8N. You would get much larger gains from upgrades in M+ and Raiding or PvP.
They aren’t going to nerf the only reason people are talking about, using, and testing the ring right now. But eventually yes, they will almost assuredly nerf the interaction between those gems because it’s 100% broken.
When/if they do nerf it, it will coincide with changes to the other gems to bring them in line.

The patch has been out a single day. If you are going to complain about something at least drop the massive exaggerations. At most someone had farm 24 hours, I wouldn’t really call that “tons of hours”…
This ring has been a stupid idea since Blizzard insisted upon making it best in slot for literally everyone yet before the buff right before 10.0.7 release it was a loss for nearly everyone. Blizzard’s incessant need to make convoluted borrowed power systems burst after not doing any for a whole two patches.
They will probably be buffing the ring (adding secondary stats based on the stones slotted) and bumping up the over all stone strength soon enough. I think they went under powered at launch, it is easier to make something better then it is to nerf something over powered.
They should really just fix the bug because it does devalue the other gem combos. BUT then should put 200 Haste, Mastery, Vers and Crit (yes all 4 stats) on the ring for the 424 version. Then it would be an upgrade and fun ring for all. The problem is the proc chances are often to low and some classes value stats more then others… Its the only real and quick solution to the fix… But I am sure the Devs will cok it up some how.
In fairness, the Forbidden Reach is a new game. It has a fresh Rares to hunt. It has new treasures to look for. It has a new Skzera Vault Puzzles to solve. It has a new Annulet ring that you could customize. It has new Dragonflight glyphs to hunt for. It’s a new area for Herba/miners.
You dont need high ilevel for this new area or the area would be obsolete to you. Look at those ilevel 415+ players whining. Good thing, I am not like them.
This made me chuckle, if BiS was reserved for “people who needed it” who exactly would that be? Its either everyone needs gear and everyone needs the best possible gear for all content or nobody does.
