ONY needs to be nerfed

If I had a character to spare to do so, I would. I can 100% walk the walk, I’ve raid lead for years. Again, you are expecting to just invite whoever and just walk in and kill the boss. ‘Anyone’ shouldn’t be able to kill Onyxia. You should be coming prepared to an endgame raid encounter. Inviting people’s magefarmer alts just because they reply to your spam ad is asking for a bad time.

Building a raid of 20 people without any sort of screening or plan is asking for failure. Walking in to Ony with 20 people in level 50 greens is asking for failure. Walking in to Ony with people who have mindsets like you, who expect the fight to be easy and/or to be carried through it, is asking for failure.

It’s not supposed to be easy, or free. It’s supposed to be challenging, and that’s why you’re rewarded with epic loot. If you bring 20 people who are prepared, and are active at their keyboard, with a leader that can guide them with a plan? You kill the boss. People are doing what you are claiming is impossible right now.

Probably a thousand videos on YouTube about ony. Since a lot of you claim to be social in game and all that jazz, maybe type in group about checking out YT for a quick ony guide

Why shouldn’t it be easy or free? This is SOD. Not some try hard season. Its a bunch of dads and older people. Classic was easy and free, thats why blizzard had such a high player base. You could invite random friends and have them learn on the starting bosses. It was simple. Wiping on content pushes the player base away. Having 2-3 free starting raids is a benefit. The world bosses and ony should be that free content just like in classic

Ony is current end game

… b… because it’s an endgame raid boss?

What, do you just want to hit level 60, /invite the first 19 60s you see and just walk in for the boss to roll over and hand you loot? Seriously?

People play video games for challenges. I’m not saying they should make their content so difficult that it classifies as a ‘try hard season’, but this isn’t that. This is minor difficulty that is easily overcome with minimal gearing and organization. If you don’t have that, you shouldn’t be raiding. This is like the bare minimum.

Again, people play video games for challenges. A great example: look at Elden Ring. Wiping on bosses in that game didn’t push newcomers away, did it? Quite the opposite… But phase 3 SoD with it’s piss-easy content definitely pushed everyone away.

Asking people to do mechanics is the bare minimum… if they can’t just kick them

Ony drops tier 2 :expressionless: not to mention is the end of a very long and lore-heavy quest chain
She’s supposed to be pretty dang powerful, actually

I heard this as the old Family Feud buzzer. The one that was so loud it rattled your soul.

Make the pug, no log checking and invite whoever if its so easy. Again you talking from zero experience. You think its easy because you havent done it with randoms. If you arent willing to do it with random pugs it just proves my point that the only reason you think its easy is because you refuse to acknowledge the pug player base.

Slaying Dragons ain’t easy.

Okay, please read what I wrote before regurgitating the same garbage rebuttal.

‘no log checking, invite whoever’ when I said that you SHOULD NOT DO THIS, nor should you BE ABLE to do this and down the boss. You are not entitled to this boss’ loot without putting in effort. You cannot just invite anybody (ie. someone’s magefarming alt in greens) and throw them at the boss and expect success.

You’re asking for LFR. You’re asking for free loot with no effort. No thank you.

And to your meaningless challenge: I would man, but both of my 60s are locked to guild runs. A guild of ‘dads and older people’ like you mentioned, that are totally capable of killing the boss you think is unreasonable for people like them.

It sounds like you did not adjust your strategy for the PUG group considering you brought more people.

It’s possible to two tank that fight, but what we have found is that if you are having issues with either lower dps or people dying in phase 2, you want a third off tank to hold adds. The respawns are so fast that a single add off tank will reach 5 stacks of the sunder and die to the 3k melee damage without having someone switch off.

What we do when we run into this in PUGs or guild runs is have myself go 2H ret off tank for more damage, and our warlock go meta. And we alternate tanking the warder while cleaving it down.

When did i ever say people in greens? Tons of bad geared players. Lockout resets Saturday. You can post the logs when you beat it. Its easy to say “ony is easy” when you go with a guild or check logs. Im saying you shouldnt have to do this or you banish tons of the player base. Leading them to quit playing. You cant have SOD without a player base. Ask any raid leader that lost players or their entire raid during Sunken Temple. The hard content can be MC. Thats why we have heat levels. Ony and world bosses should be brain dead kills with anyone.

I should be able to solo Ony.

This game sucks!

Okay so I’m a raid leader/guild leader that went through Phase 3 (Sunken Temple) and I’m telling you I lost more than half of my guild because of how easy, boring, and effortless the raid was/felt. Something similar happened in TBC when they nerfed the Tier 5 content and SSC/TK became a joke - players got bored and quit/disengaged with the game.

Ony isn’t hard. It just requires the bare minimum, and you don’t seem to be willing to put that forward. You didn’t specify greens, sure, but you’re simultaneously asking/suggesting that ‘anyone’ should be able to walk in to Ony and just… kill her. Easily.

Again, no thank you. You should have to put in effort to kill an endgame raid boss. this shouldn’t be an alien or foreign concept, or hard for you to understand. Nothing is free. You must work for it.

You don’t need to check logs, you don’t need to be an elitist. But the people you bring to your Ony raid need to be relatively prepared (decent gear, consumes - both of which are easy to obtain) and need to have a clue.

It’s not asking for a lot. It’s quite literally the bare minimum, floor/entry level for raiding. If you think that’s too much you are asking for a handout, and maybe raiding isn’t for you or you’re just not prepared for it yet.

Ill be here Saturday ready to see the logs from your full pug.

So no rebuttal. Just admit you want stuff handed to you for zero effort :person_shrugging:

Not gonna shaft my guild to prove a crybaby on the forums wrong, sorry champ. Go look at Ony pug logs from your server. They exist, you don’t need mine lmao. It’s doable.

Nah, you just scared to do a full pug because you know you wont beat it. Sit down kiddo. All this talking to back out in the end makes you look like a fool.

using SoM encounters for these bosses, imo, was dumb.

Tbh, without GDKP I feel like we’re back to WoW with noobs everywhere, pugging is really hard and even in 5man people are terrible half the time.

I’m not much of a pro GDKP player anymore (golden days are gone) because people tend to cheat by buying gold instead of working in-game/farming for it but I did see the difference in skill in GDKP runs, especially back in 2019-2021 Vanilla Classic, TBC Classic and then Wrath Classic (I don’t know about Cata, I quit before release).

It’s not just pugs, it’s the same with guilds, so many terrible guilds, that’s just sad. Oh well I’m just gonna take it easy for a week or two and hopefuly I’ll be able to get into a raid that can clear ony and MC HL1.

I’m not calling nerfs btw, I’m calling all the bad players who are bad at the game, put some efforts please, they don’t want to take responsability. It’s annoying and embarassing,
