I totally hear you on this. Mount hunting tends to be a cyclical thing for me, when I’m running low on things to do with the current expansion & don’t feel like leveling alts I always seem to drift back to the mounts because there’s always more to get. I’m also trying to spread out my alts to few different places to farm, hopefully that will help me not get too frustrated.

When I was farming the achievements for the frostwyrms I would go with a guy I met at the entrance one night. He was better geared than I and some of them required at least 2. He was after invincible and I didn’t care.

After about 45 runs he gave up and I went in for the last achievement I needed “been waiting a long time”. Grabbed a buddy to help out and the mount dropped. He had it already so I ended up with it.

Didn’t have the heart to tell the guy who had helped w/ 90% of it.

I believe the only mount I got that wasn’t a 100% drop chance while I was there specifically for it was the Baron’s Deathcharger.

Can’t say I remember. Granted, it was my first time in Onyxia’s Lair, and I thought it was a 100% drop when I got it.

I feel you, I’m on the same boat… someday he will drop it. It’s funny when you enter a raid that big and realize you have looted every single piece the loot table has, (including the new pets) except the mount.

@ OP 25m Mode and it dropped the first time i ran it i was so Excited, Just don’t give up on it took me 8 years to finally get Ashes of alar.

Got it on 25 because, like others have said, you just get more gold if you’re going to take the trouble.

Plus there are some mounts that only drop on 25H and it’s just easier to always keep it on 25H in case I forget to check before zoning in. (I did Ulduar on 10 man a few times before realizing I was on the wrong setting and I couldn’t switch it. They changed it now so it doesn’t matter anymore, but still, you get my point.)

They do drop, I got mine after about 45 attempts only, on the same day I got the mount from Attumen, which was pretty nice.

Bloody Blazing Drake though, have been going at that one for ages. So sick of Spine of Deathwing, lol, I wish it was just the Ultraxion mount from there I was missing, but it’s dropped like 3 times for me now…

My BM Hunter did 25 heroic, or whatever the high one was, in Legion…

It was one of the ones we tried for, with the simple armory guide.

I think she got it on the third try in legion. I know she tried some before Legion, can’t remember how many.

I got it on 25 man… I don’t remember if it was heroic or not. I’m old and forget things.

I think I remember it taking a day or two across just a small handful of my alts. I think it was just a 10 man normal, but it has been so long, I have forgotten. Never knew it was this rare for others.

Its the same drop rate either way. All rng. Been so long i don’t remember when it dropped.

I know i spent months killing it on multiple toons before it dropped.

Everything is rare to someone, somewhere :grinning:

I got my Tusks of Mannoroth on the 2nd or 3rd clear of Mythic SoO and just happened to be on my warrior that run. I’ve seen people saying they’ve run it thousands of times with no Tusks yet :frowning:

I got it just yesterday on my first run after a 6 year break! I used a prot pally and my gf demonlock. We did 25 man legacy size

I need to get back into mount/pet farming but for the most part it doesn’t matter. Extra loot is always good though. I got it 13 tries? The Blazing Drake on the other hand is not real and the only time I saw it was back when DS was current and the person who won it quit a week later. Worst of all it’s the last drake I need for the emerald drake.
