I don’t know if they’ve announced anything yet but from the latest article on housing it sounds like you’ll only have 2 houses per battle.net account:
“Furthermore, collected decorations are shared across your entire Battle.net account, so anything you collect on any character on any of your game accounts is shared across all of them. If you have four fountains and place three of them on the lawn of your Alliance house, your Horde house will have only one available to place.”
It doesn’t say, “if you place 3 in one house you can only place 1 in another.” It very specifically states Horde and Alliance house in connection with your BNet account.
Maybe we already knew this information and I just missed it. But I skimmed the older articles and I didn’t see anything about how many houses we’d end up having access to.
Your houses are also shared amongst your Warband with your different characters being able to come and go as you see fit (so your Orc character can hang out in your Alliance house without a problem). Housing rewards are also shared across your Warband, so you’ll be able to use your décor collection no matter which character earns it.
To start, there will be two “neighborhood” regions with multiple home plots, from what Blizzard says, it sounds like one is Alliance-coded with the 'hood themed around Elwynn, Westfall, and Duskwood, one is Horde-coded with the 'hood themed around Durotar, Azshara, and the Barrens.
From what they’ve said across all the articles, it seems they’ll eventually add more neighborhood areas, and it’s probably safe to assume that it’ll be a matter of “you can have one home for each neighborhood.”
The Horde and Alliance terminology is mainly being used because the first and most obvious major theme they could go for is the Horde and Alliance, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be limited to them completely.
Right, but even that isn’t clearly stating what I’m asking. Gear is sharable across your warband but I can have more than one piece. Just because it’s sharable doesn’t mean it’s limited. I’m not trying to be dense I just don’t think the older article says what you’re claiming it does.
Okay, that’s what I’m thinking too. Once they add more then we can have more. I just don’t know that they’ve ever officially stated that is in fact how it works yet is all.
Okay, I see it now. But still, I don’t know why they wouldn’t just say you get one per zone explicitly. Plenty of people have been speculating how many you get and I only noticed the one house per zone thing this time.
And I wouldn’t call your quote explicite considering it’s in parentheses in the article. It’s clearly used as an example, and not a statement of fact.
Someone needed to say that. And I willadd this, we DO N’T want real world situations. I’ll quit before I am made to feel sub-par, because people think “I need to own 5M before even owning a house.”
Not usually at the start. It takes a while for them to create more. SWTOR launched with two and then the third came out a little while after. Now, they’re up to 12. Rift was similar. Same with ESO.
If we want to make it immersive like you’re suggesting, I should be able to initiate home invasion/robbery and take whatever you got unless you can stop me.
