I absolutely agree with this. A ranged spec for Rogue might be fun, or even a spec for Warrior that emphasises heavy firepower. We get the big plate fighter archetype, but in D&D fighters have some ranged subclasses too.

No, shamans failed as tanks in vanilla. They wouldn’t work as such. Having more tanks hurts the game.
Dual pistol class would be cool

one thing i liked about older mmo’s was their use of the skill point system.
you could literally throw a single point on bows and still be able to use them, maybe not as effective as a proper marksman, but hey, that 1 point was about having fun, not “maxing” dps charts.

Coming from a Demon Hunter, that’s kind of interesting. Shaman only failed as tanks in Vanilla because blizzard wasn’t committed to making them work as tanks. People were shaman tanking all the way up through WotLK (with varying degrees of effectiveness), so it’s not like they COULDN’T tank.
Blizzard stopped giving them tank-based talents and never gave them proper tanking gear. So let’s not act like Shaman tank failed for any reason other than a lack of developer support.
As for the idea that having more tanks hurts the game…basically every new class up until Evoker was given a tank spec. How badly did that hurt the game?

No, it’s time for Hunters to Tank, and to learn to use Shields. Bow-Shields. Shamans can tank in SoD.

Paladins couldn’t tank either and Blizzard fixed them.

Tbh was originally sarcasm but when you put it like that like if they brought back being able to equip melee and ranged as a spec talent like Dual weild is could be pretty interesting and presumably not impossible considering vanillas ranged/throwable system
