I’m about delved out, reaching 619/620 and nearly capped on rune crests for the week anyway.
While doing delves and maximizing runs/hr (record is a 3min 30 sec Fungal Folly 8) I have been playing with single target damage and talents/gear sims. I run Brann as dps since I really don’t need heals. Oh, bear druid btw.
So…currently I sim out to 641,000 dps on patch. What I would l like to try is running 5 tanks for M+…low keys at first, but then progressing up to +8s or higher. I don’t know if the other tank classes have similar or higher dps/self heals (bear even heals other classes while tanking) but with 500k dmg per tank single target, even a boss fight at 2.5m dps will only take a bit longer and there will not be any deaths. It is actually more efficient since a lot of mechanics you can cheese through to maintain smooth rotation. The math works out something like 2.5m dps with 5 tanks and perhaps 3.5m dps with 3 top dps and tank/healer. It probably won’t work above +10 to beat timer but I would like to see how it does on lower keys.
Hit me up, Syp on Stormrage.
I could see this working maybe up to a 7-8 with dk/bears, but anyone else is going to get stomped. The bears might even get stomped due to low magic damage absorption. This week specifically it would be impossible due to not being able to completely dispel. The mobs would heal more than the damage we do.
I thought this was going somewhere else. Carry on.

Wont work, only lowest keys.
Other than as mentioned, things like dispel, is there a math reason it won’t work? I soloed a M0. Seems like adding four other players would bump you up at least into the mid key range.
Bear, 3 protadins and a warr maybe?

Because sim in delve 8 (you can afk half the final boss fight) and in M+ dungeon completely different things, different hits from mobs, bosses.
Also main question, why not get 3 DPS which pump like gods instead.
I figure it might be something fun to try and a bit different. While it isn’t as good as we had it with TD in BFA, where we went 8/12 Mythic Ny’ with only guardian druids, some of the talents now have a feeling of borrowed power.

If they bring TD and corruption I will main 4 tanks.

I do miss TD. When grouped up, we were tossing out massive numbers. True one shot in pvp too lol.

Bears can dispel the affix, so can Prot Pallies.
I’ve been thinking of trying all bear runs myself. Time can be made up by mass trash pulls where possible. With each bear taking a different pack and pulling it all together potentially into a boss you should be able to do pretty insane amounts of aoe.
Something like SoB where there is a ton of trash that can all be pulled and line of sighted to stack could work well. Doing this I think you could do a first pull pretty much up to the first boss. Wait for everything to stack pop incarn, RotS, and Lunar Beams and burn everything down. Trash after the first boss can be pulled to the boat. Than all the trash after the boat can be pulled into the second boss. Than pull all trash up to the third boss (bananas, fears, and the horsemans stuns might require two pulls)
Prot pally might be better though with WoG and the bonus healing to an ally and the 10% healing done to you also going to allies. They don’t have a decurse though so something like GB would be out of the question for an all PP run.
This sounds like the start to a very spicy Only Tanks video… or a Baldur’s Gate 3 campaign.
I did some 5 tanks run on high keys in DF, it works fine. The only problem is everything is slower than you think, most tanks gain DPS by getting hit so realistically on every trash pack the tank who starts will keep aggro and do more dps, the other 4 are glorified dps who can’t die, their dmg will be low. It’s fun, but it’s not efficient.
When you do all-tank dungeons you pull every trash pack into a boss and cleave it all down.
Might work, I think the problem you might run into is a lot of tanks generate resources for damage off of being hit, and can’t have all 5 people being hit at the same time, consistently.
