Wasn’t the actual launch itself so messed up blizz gave everyone game time? It was years ago now so maybe my memory is failing me.
I could have sworn that WoD had the most smooth launch out of any expansion, but I do my best to try and forget as much of that part of time as possible (both for game and IRL reasons).
We’ll let a third party figure that one out for us.
Blizzard apologizes for Warlords of Draenor launch, adds free time for subscribers | PC Gamer
annnnnndd I’m a human now.
Huh, I actually forgot about that DDoS attack.
And what witchcraft is this?! Get back in your mudhut before I zug zug a breathing hole for you with my fist!
I was just uhh…using orb of deception earlier. Yeah. Orb of Deception.
I bet you work for Blizzard because you’re shilling real hard for them.
Well I think I did the main story and covenants with my first 6 month sub. Im just guessing I can do the new stuff with another 2 month sub. Im having fun with the new stuff no doubt… I just wish blizz made more content but its not like anyone ever said that before. LOL!
One if we’re lucky LOL. I’m expecting 2
I wouldn’t care if the game completely 100% stopped development. I just log in to PvP and I’d be fine with it not resetting every time so I don’t have to re-gear all over for no reason.
20s, which is why the number 3k is nice. It’s within range of my skill as a goal to accomplish.
Blizzard 100% knows they cannot do another shadowlands or even a bfa if they ever want to be the big kid at the park again, if 10.0 is at least legion quality I think there might be hope.
Actually, goes back way further than that. We had Lego cloaks and rings in MoP, and we had Garrisons, which included the Adventure Table and Shipyard in WoD.
I think the biggest complaint about systems has been the delivery system. Generally speaking the legos from Legion were well received. The problem was the rng nature. They were too hard to get and if you didn’t get the right ones early enough you were always at a disadvantage.
Same with Azerite gear and corruption.
Once they fixed the delivery methods, most players were happy, which is what players have the best memories of. What players don’t like is a bunch of restrictions or limitations surrounding acquisition and upkeep.
People generally don’t mind legendary gear this expansion, they just don’t like the gold costs and the Torghast runs required to acquire them.
My point isn’t much different from yours, but I say this to point out that systems aren’t a problem per se, it’s the way that Blizzard overloads them with rng, currency grinds and timegates.
Patch 9.2 is named “Eternity’s End”.
Maybe that name is a lot more “meta” than anyone realizes…
I had quit Legion for Overwatch, hoping to ride it out until the next expac came out…here we are a full 3 expansions (yes, 3 because I don’t have any love for SL and already count it as over for myself.)
Veterans will absolutely want my head on a pike for saying it… but Vanilla through Wrath is absolute poo. The best 3 expansions are Cata, Mists, and Warlords - combat was/is so good and spammy in those expansions.
Most likely in some form. I enjoy leveling alts so there’s always that. Also would like to hop into bc classic. Plenty to catch up on with my alt. Oddly enough I am sort of content knowing that everyone I know has quit.
You’re being disingenuous if you try to compare the Legendary Cloak and Ring from MoP and WoD to the state of Legendaries in Legion and Shadowlands. Everyone more or less got the same package when getting the cloak and the ring (and the BFA cloak), with them being just a necessary part of the experience. Like you mentioned, there was no real rngness to those three, but you weren’t required to juggle them around as things got nerfed/balanced/etc. You didn’t need to have a PvP one, an AoE one, a ST one, a solo content one, like some classes and specs do. There wasn’t a tier system for them, because they were the only game in town. It’s not just the delivery, but the fact they play more like an additional talent row that we have to sink oodles of time and money into, instead of just picking the one we want to use. And I don’t call that a “delivery” issue, since there was never an intent to make them talents or talent-like, so they’d always have been attached to gear.
Honestly, the Heart of Azeroth approach with the Essences would have been a better way to keep doing something like how Legendaries are now, as awful as that thing was.
And even after they “fixed” Corruptions, most folks still despised them, because of how completely broken they were.
Enjoy being a ground peasant when you find out only a few people will ever get to use flying mounts while you ride around on land. It will be dead in no time.
For me, it doesn’t matter when the next expansion comes out. There are many other games to keep me interested in. The free weekly games from Epic. Oculus VR. Steam backlogs. All I care about is Blizzard take their time to get the expansion ready without bugs and make it enjoyable to play, just like all the previous expansions.
I feel yah
