My one toon, Kimbeth, Maxed fishing, cannot see fishing pools on map or minimap. I have done everything I know of to correct this including removing all addons, deleting the WTF files., checking the map icons to find something to change. Is there some value that got turned off to see the pools and how do I get it back.
Did they learn fish tracking? It’s not automatic and it’s not account-wide.
It’s taught by buying or looting this.

OMG that is not close to the problem. I had done everything you are supposed to do for fishing and then suddenly I was not able to see fish pools anymore. Did you even read that I had maxed fishing to 300+? Now today I find it has spread to another of my toons. This is getting awefull.
300 fishing has nothing to do with fish tracking. Hence, Sniperorc’s comment. Your response is not helpful.
Continuing with Sniperorc’s line - have you checked to make sure those characters will have fish tracking turned on?

My map interface does not show the fishing tracking option. Don’t know how to get it back. I can not find any way to return that option.
Then either the character doesnt have fish tracking, or you need to reset your ui.

I had fish tracking for the last 3 expansions and on my other level 80 toons I can see fish pools. However in the last few months I lost that ability. I just did a reset of the user Interface as instructed, even rebooted the computer, and no luck
Did you reset the Cvars like the article mentions?
Yes. What really bugs me is that all my other 8 80s can see fish pools and Kimbeth used to be able to, but now I hover right over a pool and it does not show on the map. She is maxed fishing and my main.
At this point, the best thing would be to file a bug report and a ticket.
Probably not a ticket. It’s unlikely a GM will do anything other than link to existing documentation about fish tracking and suggest posting a bug report.
