One Rift Traveler

So I log into Hardcore, my guy is in the Crossroads inn and as I’m loading in I’m being attacked by One Rift Traveler. Someone got the debuff from Swamp of sorrows and hearth back to Crossroads and was killing people intentionally. I wasn’t the only victim. Really stupid and annoying way to lose my character…I was unable to see who it was but others in game watched him do it and said to report what I can and post here as well. I know nothing will be done but going forward I hope this can be addressed or brought to justice…

Submit two issues to Blizzard, as there would be two different groups that would really need to handle this, the first being the most important to prevent the problem in the future.

  1. Submit a bug on someone being able to port out of swamp of sorrows while being attacked by the One Rift Traveler where it can then grief/kill lower level players in other zones. Blizzard has fixed similar issues like this and its likely to get corrected.

  2. If you really think it was griefing and want to report this, you will want this to be a separate request. Report it as harassment/griefing, make sure to include the date, time, location and a summary of what happened. In situations like Blizzard should be able to look at logs, based on date/time/location identify any players involved and make a determination if they think it qualifies as griefing.

Kynsa has it.

It’s not a bug.

I would disagree with this, and expect Blizzard will as well. With similar issues they have found porting in to a low level area with an “effect” from a higher level area where the “effect” then kills players in the lower level area is not working as desired, and consider it a bug, which they have then patched to prevent it in the future.

Not being there, I know a lot of things can seem like griefing taken from the view of the player who died, but if you take it from the other side, was there intent, or even the thought that they might kill someone? I will agree in this case it seems pretty strait forward, but as I am not really that familiar with the effect I can’t really judge it that fairly either way.

Based on the “disrupting the play environment” statement in the hardcore ToS, this is indeed griefing.

It doesn’t have to be intentional, most people don’t even know about this debuff and don’t bother to mouse over it. Unless they explicitly type something in chat implying that they were intending to do it you have no evidence they were griefing as opposed to just hearthing with a debuff without paying attention, despite all the fragile people here who immediately want to rush to judgement and hang anyone who inconveniences them in any way.

19 years to the contrary.

I will agree in the past Blizzard has tended to ignore, or maybe a better way to say it is not prioritize issues like this, but the team working with classic ERA servers and which has done most of the HC work, does seem to be taking this type of issue more seriously with the launch of HC as the impact in HC is significantly higher, and they have already fixed several similar issues like this.

Ahh you mean the debuff that lasts for one minute before summoning the guys? Surely someone wouldnt do that intentionally. I bet it happens all the time that people just randomly hearth immediately after getting the debuff.

Most people don’t know about this debuff or what it does. Sure rare people do it intentionally, but people ALSO hearth with random debuffs they didn’t read. You don’t know which this was. You’re just baselessly accusing them of doing it intentionally with no evidence.

Im not accusing anyone other than you of defending griefer behavior like a lifeless scumbag.

They intentionally took out stuff like this from HC because it isnt supposed to be in this mode.

Grief on brother/sister whomever.

You have zero evidence anyone was griefing. If you have it show it.

Otherwise, the only scumbag here is you.

Look in the mirror bud. Might help. If you can stand what you see.

Still no evidence of anyone griefing, only you brainlessly rushing to judgement on a situation you know nothing about and then throwing insults at anyone who points out your ignorance. People like to virtue signal on the internet, unfortunately the only thing you’re signaling is your lack of virtue.

If this were a court of law for a murder trial, you’d have a fair point. It’s not proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Is it, however, the most likely? Yes.

Should miffy have not made it personal also yes, but brainless isn’t called for either.

ROFL!

That’s adorable.

No, it’s not the most likely. People hearth with random debuffs all the time. You have no idea which it was or how likely either possibility is.
