I feel like we should be hearing about 9.1.5 hitting the ptr in the next week or 2 at most. If not then I suspect this is going to be another big content drought.
MoP with its no content for one year and two months would like to wave hello, and point out that it was only one of multiple year-long content droughts.
I think right now we’re dealing with shock about things and fear for what it means to livelihoods and reputations. It’s normal and healthy.
Eventually, groups will coalesce around leaders (rather than necessarily managers) who will pull their teams together and get them back to a focus. Obviously, some teams will be more directly impacted and there will be much more hurt and anger. Ideally, a high level exec will step up and provide leadership and the expanding groups will resume functioning as they interact. It won’t be even and some groups may never be whole again and will require a reorganization to establish trust and cohesiveness.
These are adults and professionals and things will get back on track as they have lives and professions to resume. Things may get delayed but the storyboards and systems have already been laid down, it isn’t like they have to pick up the pieces from scratch.
The one unknown in all this is if there are significant changes in management this could result in new new ideas for the game direction that may be disruptive. I don’t think this is likely, but it is possible. In short, give them and us time to take a deep breath, process and get on with our personal reactions to all of this.
The only thing in MoP that took a year was SoO to expansion.
Sell it to Games Workshop.
So Muh Lore people can see what happens when the lore is put first above all.
Gulags in the cold war have more freedom in that regard.
lmao.
Your attempt at edginess with your stupid little surfing idiots at the end of every post is cringe.
I’m okay if they don’t have a new xpac for 2 years if certain things happen:
Apologize and own the mistakes both in game and out of game. Acknowledge that they have been out of touch and recommit themselves to making it right. The people in the building responsible for the toxicity to each other and to the fanbase need a change of scenery. The contempt and bile for the players needs to stop. (Players have some responsibility here as well, to stop being so nasty to the developers.)
Scrap whatever garbage they are cooking up right now cause we already know it is going to suck. Take some time to LISTEN and play the game themselves, and play other games to develop a new vision of what WoW should be. Commit to making the best game for everyone, not just Ion or the mythic raiders.
Good post.

1 “major” patch is a bit of a scandal. To be fair, It is never stated when purchasing an expansion - “This expansion will include x number of patches”.
Actually, there will a 9.2. I will bet everything I own on it. It may not come til February, but there absolutely will be another patch.
Personally, I do not want Shadowlands to continue very long and would prefer to move on. I would be a great deal more happy if we had to endure a lengthier amount of time with Shadowlands - If equal ilvl PvP Conquest gear returned. Then the wait for next patch or expansion wouldn’t sting so much during development hiatus [my opinion only].
You don’t have to be a genius to figure out what’s wrong with this list of patches you just posted. Maybe you should use the common sense you claim to have. What do ALL of those patches shy of 9.0 have in common? They were the patch at the END of their expansion. Going a comparable amount of time without new content at the START of the expansion is extremely rough by comparison.
Naw, it’ll go to 9.2 at the very least
Almost no work does not equal no work. Where you guys get that from I dont know. Its not like there is much to work on anyways. 9.1 wasnt being worked on for those 8 months after release. 9.1 just came out not too long ago, the entire raid isnt even unlocked yet for raid finder.
What are they going to do? Fix bugs? Yeah right. Start working on something that they dont even know about? Yeah lets just type up code even though we have absolutely no clue what is going to be in 9.2.
If you think they know what is going to be in 9.2, just look at 9.1. That was rushed in a few months.
So no, there is work being done, based on the tweet linked. What that work would be, who knows, its not 9.2 though.
It shouldn’t have stopped moving regardless and the devs/employees shouldn’t have mentioned anything about either. Blizzard is a large company, companies like them don’t stop moving just because a lawsuit got tossed their way.
While the higher ups are disposed with the lawsuit there should’ve been someone ready to step up as an acting leader.
