As a Rogue, I miss disarming traps, setting up smoke bombs and unlocking doors…
Ah the good ol’ days…

I miss when standing in fire (like camp fires) hurt you enough that you actually had to step out of them or die.
Yeah. Will never forget crossing from the Barrens into Dustwallow for the first time.
“Cool swamp zone!” I thought to myself.
As I wandered in further, and level ?? giant spiders and crocolisks prompty tore me a new one.
Also, “The Welcome Bear”.

I loved playing my Rogue as a noob, but I died soooo much, holy cow I was bad. Even at cap I was terrible, guild mate eventually told me straight… “Play your Priest dude, you suck at Rogue”
Still love playing Rogue, and still awful at it.
Like being lvl 12 in Westfall and accidently crossing the river to Duskwood to get killed by a lvl 18 bear.
Scaling is counter to the concept of leveling up.
If everything gets stronger when you do then you aren’t getting any stronger.
I prefer the old system. That is why and how I got my explorer tabbard by dying 100’s of times just to explore everything even if it took me all day to do it.
Those were the times.
Or imagine this, wanting to get to Kalimdor to go do SSC and get ganked by the entirety of STV by merely existing.
SSC is in Zangarmarsh in Outlands, STV is in Eastern kingdoms, and neither touches Kalimdor. I think you are mixing something up.
Bleh got my caverns mixed up.
WC is what I meant.
So Wailing Caverns in the Barrens. Gotcha.
Yeah, go to STV and take the Booty Bay ferry to Ratchet.
Going too far east in Tirisfal.
Fairly sure it had been a player request for a while back then, because you kept doing gray quests just trying to finish a zone.
Dude how did you turn a “I miss how leveling used to have more danger in it” take into a “HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST WE GO TO SOME SORT OF HARDCORE EXPERIENCE, JUST GO DO IT IF THAT’S WHAT YOU WANT” one?
Tell that to people exploring the jungles of the central Americas.
Both are caverns with some sneks in em, close enough
snek holes
There was a quest in Ironforge early into leveling that sent you to Menethil Harbor, through a tunnel full of Orcs that outleveled your character. Before hitting the Wetlands. It was basically a corpse run that took like half an hour to an hour depending on how many deaths you had along the way…and that was if you stayed on the road lol
I fully agree. I loved it when mobs were all skulls to me. Made the world super scary. Had to be careful where I went.
Go to an elite world quest area and fight stuff there in your own.
