One MEGA SERVER for the remaining few

Hello,

Thank you for Season of Discovery. It was by far my favorite version ever released.

I am hoping to still play this version. May you please merge all servers into one? To the best of your ability while keeping it functioning of course.

just come roll on crusader strike

The servers do 100% need to be collapsed onto Crusader Strike but somehow let people opt out of pvp especially with the faction imbalance

maybe if the cluster the realms like they did era that or warmode not sure what other choices there is

Could they just allow pve to pvp and vice versus with level 60 toons, then people can move as they please?

No. We don’t need a 80/20 ally favored super server.

Both servers dying but i guess it’s more important of what pixel color you have. I think we cant save SOD boat going to ocean. And everyone wanna save his faction play style pvp or pve. We need good feedback. This dont help for anything bgs have more hordes than ally by the way and yet we requeu because we love the game. At this point just buff ret pallies devs please they cant compet thos days in pvp so this player can cry about the wrong problem more.

Or they could just setup a merged PVP and a merged PVE cluster like they did for Era.

SoD still has 4x the population as Era does. It doesn’t need “one mega server”.

For sure, I think also at some point with vanilla era they let pve to pvp transfer occur. I personally would love that so I can bring a couple geared alts off horde NA WG, which is quite quiet.

This is easy if there is a faction imbalance when people xfer over give them a free faction change.

They have the technology. It’s called warmode. Basically turn it off and you move to a layer where there is no pvp. Turn it on and you move to a layer that allows pvp.

Oh they do? Faction change is a thing.

Absolutely not! If you’re advocating for Warmode in Classic, you’re basically telling everyone you play Retail without saying it outright.

Warmode is fundamentally opposed to the entire point of rolling on a PvP server. Players who chose PvP servers did so knowing they’d face the risk and unpredictability of world PvP—that IS part of the experience. Adding Warmode undermines that choice by letting players opt out of PvP while still benefiting from a PvP-server economy and environment. If avoiding world PvP was the priority, rolling on a PvE server was already the solution.

Classic without world PvP isn’t World of WARcraft—it’s ‘World of Lovecraft.’ Removing organic PvP encounters destroys faction tension and the unique dynamics that make PvP servers distinct. The same people pushing for Warmode knowingly rolled on servers that came with a warning about world PvP, yet now demand an escape button to avoid it.

If Blizzard caves to this kind of Retail-style handholding, Classic won’t be Classic anymore—it’ll just be another watered-down iteration with the soul stripped out of it.

wonder if they ever did an ingame survey or voting on if warmode should be brought use for classic+ wonder what the results would be

So if I chose to join a pvp server than you’re saying I should be forced to always PvP for the entirety of that character’s life? What if on Saturday I’m in the mood for pvp but on Sunday I just want to chill with a beer and relax? If as a pvper why would you want to pvp against a player who just wants to chill with a beer and relax?

If you were a true Pvper like me, you’d only want to PvP against other players interested in pvping. Instead you’re making a case to grief people.

Warmode gives me an incentive to pvp. More exp and gold per quest, unique pvp quests with PvP gear rewards.

I spend most of my time in retail with warmode on and I have a blast pvping with other people who like to pvp.

It’s the perfect system provided you’re a pvper and not a griefer

I strongly refuse starting all over unless I get the same amount of gold and items I’ve already invested on another server.

And probably playing on a pvp server specially on sod isnt on the top of my wishes (or even written at all)

You’re fundamentally misunderstanding what a PvP server is. When you rolled on a PvP server, you chose a world where open-world PvP is always active there was no toggle, no safe mode, just organic faction conflict. That’s the core of what made PvP servers distinct from PvE servers, and Classic should retain that identity instead of adopting Retail handholding like Warmode.

Claiming that ‘true PvPers only want to fight players who are interested in PvPing’ misses the point entirely. World PvP isn’t an arena queue it’s spontaneous, unpredictable, and shaped by faction rivalry. That was the intended design of PvP servers, and watering it down just so people can ‘chill with a beer’ without risk defeats the purpose. If avoiding PvP is your goal, PvE servers already exist for that there was never a need for a Retail toggle system in Classic.

And as for Warmode ‘giving an incentive to PvP’? That’s just forced bribery to get people to opt into a system that shouldn’t need artificial rewards. PvP should happen because it’s a PvP server, not because Blizzard is dangling extra XP and gold to bait people into participation. If Classic caves to this kind of design philosophy, it won’t be Classic anymore it’ll just be another Retail-lite iteration that strips away what made PvP servers meaningful in the first place.

Brother, stop talking about thing you don’t understand. You don’t even play retail and if you did you’d know how dumb you sound.

Barely anyone uses Warmode in retail outside of farming mounts and the questing bonus. Warmode would be MUCH better in Classic than retail.

You’re missing the point entirely. Whether Warmode is popular in Retail or not is irrelevant—its very existence fundamentally contradicts the design of Classic PvP servers. Classic was built around persistent world PvP, where faction tension was always present. The idea that adding a toggle would somehow improve this system is just Retail thinking creeping into Classic.

Claiming Warmode would be ‘MUCH better in Classic’ completely ignores why PvP servers exist in the first place. Players who chose a PvP server did so knowing world PvP was an ever-present risk, not something to opt into when convenient. If someone doesn’t want spontaneous PvP encounters, PvE servers already exist for that—Warmode has no legitimate place in Classic.

World PvP is meant to be organic, unpredictable, and faction-driven, not a controlled environment where Blizzard hands out extra gold and XP to manipulate participation rates. If the goal is to keep Classic authentic, Blizzard needs to preserve its PvP systems, not retrofit them with Retail mechanics that undermine the experience.

Sounds like you want a pve server where u can optionally toggle pvp on or off. Those exist.

PvP servers don’t really exist. What happens is one side has a leg up over the other side and the weaker side mass transfers off. This is why pvp servers on Cata are 99% horde or 99% alliance.

It would be like that here if blizzard didn’t force faction balance.

Truth is, people don’t really like to pvp. Most would prefer a war mode system to allow players to switch between pvp and pve with pvp having in game incentives
