One handed ilv 400 agility sword but not strength?

or am I missing something?

At the 340 and 370 tiers they left out an Agi 1h sword, meaning there was nothing craftable for DHs to use. Rather than just adding an additional item, they changed the Str 1h from the previous tiers to be Agi. So now Prot Wars and Pallies and Frost DKs don’t get anything.

In the end, demand for crafted weapons 40 odd ilvls behind the curve isn’t terribly high, but it does seem like something they could have got right anyway.

They could at least make the 1h swing between Agi and Str.

Before DH didn’t have a good crafted 1 hands (can’t use the agility maces like rogue can). Now that cutlasses changed from strength to agility its now DKs that use 1 hand weaps that are out of luck in terms of buying crafted weaps.

all positive solutions to my query. thanks. makes me wonder how the devs can’t figure this out?

I suspect the devs figured it out, but went “meh, good enough.”

It’s professions, after all. Demonstrably way down on the priority list.

If you want the technicals, weapons don’t seem to be able to hold both Str and Agi the way Armor can. So adding that for a combined Str+Agi sword would be a significant change. Adding a thing like previous things is programmatically relatively easy, but adding a new kind of thing is often not.

But adding a second weapon to hold Agi instead of Str while easy for the programmer, requires new art. New 3d models, stuff that gets worked on for months before we see it. They’re not going to do that for a bug fix.

I guess they could put in a second identical looking sword, and rename the current one Uncanny Combatant’s Agile Sword and call the new one Uncanny Combatant’s Strong Sword, but at that point it’s getting kind of clunky.

Being realistic, just hope they don’t do this again next time. Get a list of all the weapons used by all the specs of all the classes and make sure there is something for everyone while Shadowlands is still being developed and stuff like new art isn’t as hard to add.
