Instead of playing multiple alt characters, how about we allow one character to unlock all classes and all professions?
The play time should be the same whether we play 12 alts for 12 classes or one character for 12 classes. The benefit is huge. We get to see the same character logging in everyday instead of multiple characters coming and going. Also, players will behave better ingame as they will be more responsible for their reputation.
So I tried final fantasy 14 free trial. LOL for like 1 day now. LOL
So far I can’t believe the mess they have with account service. Apparently they have PC version, steam version, PS4 version and they are all separate. Their Mog station account, Square enix store account is separate, and the forum account is something else lol
The account service they have feels like something from the 90s.
I mean compared to them, Blizzard is an expert, enough so that a lot of people were saying they wished Blizzard managed Final Fantasy 14. LOL
The game itself look O.K. I suppose although I don’t really like the instanced zones, I like the open world feeling of WOW more.
Anyways, I just thought I steal one good idea from Final Fantasy 14 and see what you guys think.
Friends don’t let friends post on the message board while drinking. You crap on FF14 and then say it is “Ok”? You want one character to unlock everything?
It takes X amount of time to level a character from LvL1 to LvL 120.
Doing it for all 12 classes will mean 12 X.
Let’s say we allow one character to unlock all other classes. The player will still have to level a new class from LvL1 to LvL 120, meaning it’s gonna take the same 12 X duration of time.
Gear-wise, WOW can re-introduce class specific gears, Tier sets, class specific weapons…etc., or have some gears for all classes but make them a bit harder to acquire.
Just an idea from Final Fantasy 14, that’s all.
Within 5 minutes I logged into Final Fantasy 14, I could already see how much they stole from WOW in terms of interface use like ASWD for movement and space bar for jumping, mouse zoom-in and zoom-out, basically the character movement feels the same, although not as smooth as wow though. The graphics of the game is amazing but to me, it felt like visual pollution sometimes, just too much visual input happening. Anyways, they stole from WOW so I thought it’s only fair to steal from them
Well, all versions of FFXIV can play together, regardless if you buy it on Steam, their store, or for Playstation. Just your account would be locked to what version you bought, all platforms play on the same servers for the same content.
At first I was thinking of this older game that’s gone now, Free Realms, where you could switch your characters class/professions/etc to whatever, and I think that was a neat idea - but wouldn’t work in WoW, which has been established already with a system that works as it is.
Then you started talking something something Final fantasy and bouncing topics and you totally lost me.
Do you realize how long it takes to level up 12 characters, of course you do since you are requesting this. So how do you figure leveling up one would result in the same play time as leveling up twelve.
And no, it isn’t a good idea and I am really curious what you think people with 50 characters would do in this situation ?
Nah, FFXIV does that and for reasons I can’t quite put my finger on I just don’t like it. I like my separate characters with separate classes and identities
I fully admit that I only got to your second sentence…then my brain BSOD so I have no idea how you managed to writer more than two sentences.
But! No. Bad Paladin. Stop drinking so much of the koolaid! That’s for new converts and infidels who need to see the light in a water board fashion.
While I gripe and grumble about having to level things up…having to level them up makes me learn them AND it’s a part of the fun. If You don’t have fun with it doesn’t mean you get to take away my fun. It means you don’t do the thing I find fun.
I am not saying make it mandatory to level 12 classes but I am saying give the people the option to play the different classes using the same character they played before. There should be some perks to do so but not balance disturbing though. How about every time a character reach the max level in a new class, the character can add 1 more extra profession? Herb + mining with the first character and if the character becomes a new LvL 120 in a different class now the character can have 1 more? something like alchemy or JC?
I am not talking about different specs by the way in case some of you are confused. I am talking about Leveling a new class but using the previous character that has already reached max level in some other class.
Maybe allowing all 12 classes for one character is too much and confusing, but still 3 or 4 classes should be good.
The idea here is to see the same characters logging in everyday more, instead of seeing new characters everywhere. Also, it’s gonna give the players more focus.
I have posted a few times on the forums, I would like to have all specs open to the same character. All the ones available to that race, of course. No Night Elf Paladins, lol. We are on the same page, most others are not.
Practically all games steal from each other. WoW is one of the biggest thieves of all, having taken many UI elements from the big MMORPGs of the day when it was released and continuing to acquire game elements from others as time has gone on.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Go play FF14 if you like playing all classes on one toon. Wow is fine as it is when it comes to THEIR way of 1 toon - 1 class. Just cause FF14 does all classes on one toon doesn’t mean wow has to follow or that it would work well for WoW itself. /shrugs/
