When you die, add a “Recap” button. So you can see easily why you died. Yes, there’s the combat log, but the recap could have a small graph of the last 15 seconds of damage, and where it came from. This would help people learn what killed them.

The log literally gives you words like “Trogg cast X spell and did X damage with X amount overkill”.
If that’s too tough to understand, you have bigger problems.

Yeah, I got it. But graphs don’t make it any easier to understand.
That system already exists in game.
So take the data and chart it. Welcome to the math and science world.
I would like if I could click on the corpses and get a video replay of how someone died.
“OK, he’s pulling that murloc. Look out, that murloc’s bringing three buddies. Oh, you’re gonna try to fight through this? Awww, now you tried to run away and that respawn punched you right in the face. Run away, run away! Keep going you can…nope, you’re dead.”
Of course while I’m watching the replay I’ll probably get killed by the same mob that killed my buddy. But my replay won’t be as entertaining. Forget the replay idea.
I would like it if instead of a video, you could actually replay how someone died, to see if you could have prevented the death.
And a stack of corpses would be a pretty clear warning to avoid that scenario.
