50% of the BM population after losing azerite traits and corruptions change to MM.
You read it here first. BM will be garbage withought DoD + PI and Skitra Bow effect.
Triple DoD and PI is giving BM’s 180k+ kill commands and skitra bow is giving them almost 100% uptime on Beastial Wrath
MM has a haste azerite trait as their best and will be less effected from losing it.
They are being carried 100% by 2 traits and a bow.
Without those 3 things it falls into the dirt.
Fairly certain Method was playing BM in world first kills before those things, so BM will be just fine.
Its being propped up atm by 3 key things.
I was raiding with my guild which has 6-7 hunters atm using BM last week.
I had 3 x DoD but had 0 PI and no skitra bow. Knowing how to play it and never letting frenzy stacks drop off, on ST bosses in Nyalotha i was 40k+ behind in dps with only being 5-8 ilvls behind our top BM’s.
I got one of the PI traits and skitra bow i needed last night and already saw maaassive gains.
In the end what im saying is, MM will be better than BM on prepatch because it doesnt rely as heavily on key traits and a bow to prop up its dmg.
The thread wasnt overly serious just a bit of a prediction is all anyway.
i’m not going to change specs. i’m going to change classes. i’ve had it with hunter being screwed over and being ignored.
of course that would imply i don’t quit first from them trying to fix the behavior of people who don’t play the way blizzard wants them to.
Uh, no, they had PI and DoD. They may or may not have had the Skitra bow, I’m not sure. But the single biggest part is DoD. It’s what ramps up our stat scaling so much and BM Hunters have historically had extremely poor scaling. So it really isn’t an exagerration to say the spec hinges on that trait.
DOD combined with triple PI. The mastery gain is nuts and it effects Kill Command dmg.
Also getting thr skitra bow literally allowed me to spam Barbed shots without having to think about keeping stacks up. It comes off cd that much faster and staying in beastial wrsth more.
Probably too early to saw, azerite and corruption may still be active until you level up.
If it gets removed, I dont expect anyone changing. All class somewhat depend on their azerite.
Their traits are actually strong enough to buff the power of Barbed Shot on their own, the azerite traits are just icing on the cake.
The thing that might actually put the BM spec behind is fixing the scaling. Right now, MM prefers Mastery and Versatility - do you have any idea how hard it is to get a decent percentage of either of those stats?
You miss the part where everyone played BM all of BFA before those things.
Depends on player some play meta i just go with best option i like thats available bc to wod, survival, legion - current bm tho as alt class now. Mm no pets suv is now melee, bm is only ranged hunter w pet. If bm goes away too then im out of specs and i can let my hunter rest in peace and remember the good times. Whats funny bm didnt use to be good for actual dps numbers it came along way in that regard
MM still has a pet, it’s just not optimal DPS.
