Assassination hinges on having stealth moving into large pulls otherwise it’s a drastic dps drop. I’m not sure where you came up with this idea that sin rogues don’t need it.
The ironic thing is that the other two specs don’t need nearly as much and what you said is however correct for them.

Reread my sentence. Also vanish is a 2min cooldown (yes we talent into 2 charges, however it’s not like if one vanishes back to back they get them both back 2min after the second vanish was used. It’s 4 min for both charges.) and having to vanish each chainpull will leave quite a bit of time without it at all.
Also if you’re in a group with sin rogues and you’re chain pulling, they may not say anything to avoid fighting with you, but they absolutely hate you for it.
In those cases where your tank refuses to stop chainpulling there’s a couple things I do to make the most of a crappy time;
If the last mov in the pack looks like it’s going to die before it reaches the next pack, hang back, let it die and stay out of combat. Losing a few seconds up time feels better than losing carnage.
If that’s not gonna work then just try to keep rupture up on 4 mobs and your prio (5 total - just fan - rup-fan-rup) garrotte your prio too, and just focus on spattering off him. (Tempest too of course). It obviously won’t do as much as if you got stealth but it’ll do a lot more than trying to dot everything. Spatter does most of the damage, the bleeds hurt of course but I find they’re just there for infinite energy to dump envenems into spatter.
I think this is more of an issue of indiscriminate carnage.
Carnage relying on stealth is not good, it should be higher first of all, and it should be like:
After using fan of knives or mutilate, your next rupture and garrote hits more targets.
Or just make it a passive rupture and garrote hit 3 targets instead of 1.
This would significantly smooth out sin rogue opener in aoe.
Also, i think caustic should apply with both fan of knives and mutilate on the selected target.
Fix this, and you’ll make me wanna play sin rogue a bit more.
I think outlaw and sub suffer a lot less from this because they have significant cdr on their stealth enablers, while sin rogue does not. But sub aoe is kinda trash, outlaw instead does decent damage at it’s target cap, but nothing special either, the issue with outlaw is the hard cap.
Honestly i have a few ideas for outlaw too, but i already said them a few times, and this post is about sin rogue anyway.
Honestly it seems to me that rogue is made with a lot of purposefully badly designed mechanics in order to make it more “challenging to play” If that’s the case, this is a really stupid way to create difficulty in a spec.
1 min Vanish would be amazing or just give Sin CDR on Vanish only.
Maybe I rolled a Nat 20 on luck on this one but I am traditionally I am an Outlaw enjoyer, however my tank asked me to go Sin this season for Sin’s Dmg profile and he plays Sin so he knows to give me split sec before he pulls again so I can re-stealth.
Now I would suggest that you let the tank know that you need to re between each pull and it requires a split second between pulls. I would tell them before the key starts. Tell them it’s not about dmg, it’s about CC. Lets be honest, nobody but us rogues really know how we work because most other dps and tanks are just zug zug mongoloids who just hold “W”.
Made me think about the talent stacking Fan of Knives damage over time… feel like that should be added back to the DS tree in some way but at the same time people hate having to use aoe in st for some reason.

I build the comps around myself for this reason actually. Its so easy to say a rogues dps is low when playing with mages, evokers, dks etc.
Oh definitely, guess the guy is comparing to uncapped AOE specs that just turn to gods during AOE situations, but after the tunning changes its gotten, Sub is more than competent in AOE situations.

No, sub has extremely bad aoe outside of cds, which usually results in mediocre aoe overall, because the burst aoe is not enough to make up for the utter lack of damage outside of cds. Arcane is in a somewhat similar situation where they are very burst oriented, especially in st, but they still do relatively good aoe outside of cds. With some luck, but orb barrage proc rate is quite high.
Probably one of the worst aoe compared to every dps spec all things considered, sub is not competitive at all in this department.
I would rather be in a situation like fury warrior rather than this, sure they have hard capped aoe, but at least they blast those 5 targets.

Arcane is also a burst class, but it still does decently well outside of cds in aoe.

saying mage isnt overtuned, when it finds itself in god comp every season, while also carrying mass barrier and other utilities is silly and wrong. especially when logs showing arcane mage keeping up with boomie on aoe WHILE doing uhdk level of st.
I wouldn’t say no to buffs (nor would/should any one to their main class), I just want to see reworks. There’s some astounding flaws in assassination that make it beyond frustrating to play (just as there are with each spec of rogue right now), and I would like to see some of these things actually worked out instead of just tuning numbers upwards as if that solves the fundamental problems.
